It's possible he dropped from the top onto a mat, and then did a second shot where he dropped a couple of feet and they just merged the shots to create a smooth connection. Pretty solid shot, you only really notice it in a rewatch.

@TuffMelon I mean, everything is possible, I don't know the behind the scenes, but the body fell flat on the ground face first, I don't think neither Bacon himself nor a stuntman would take a legit fall this way, there's for some kind of trickery, I tend for the puppet but also a digital editing of a mat is possible too

I love that they chose somewhat more realistic 80’s wardrobes for the actors and extras. So many films choose the extreme fashion trends of the decade their film is based in, which don’t get me wrong sometimes does work. But when it’s clearly over the top and doesn’t suit the movie, I find it tends to take me out of it a bit more. Not everyone was wearing neon colours, crazy shoulder pads or permed mullets!😂 It was the same as it is today, there was all types of styles, rock, goth (or alternative as it was known back then☝️) plain jeans and a tee people, preppy and hippie and so on… When I see photos of my family in the 80’s there wasn’t a drop of neon!

I used to be one of the unauthorized characters on Hollywood Boulevard! I was Princess Fiona (in ogre form) for 5 years. I always get a kick out of movies showing the street performers. Or as the city council optimistically called us, "Ambassadors of Hollywood" lol

1:29 Maxxxine also has a lot in common with Crimes of Passion, another 80’s film about a sex worker who’s stalked by a religious fanatic and a private investigator.

As the audience, why would we be scared or worried about the gloved killer murdering people when our main character does it all the time. What are the stakes?
@tobyoneil1969Ай бұрын
Before this movie Maxine only had one body under her belt (dead body that is) which was Pearl at the end of X. Pearl is the villain of that movie and Maxine a survivor, so the murder in that case doesn't subtract away from Maxine still being a victim of sorts. In this movie she is indirectly behind 1 death and one intentional death at the end of the film. The gloved killer however is shown to brutally torture and murder innocent people. Maxine is still the survivor, still the victim of sorts and she is in the firing line of the gloved killer. Thats the stakes. A survivor, a victim of sorts, being hunted.

@@tobyoneil1969A VICTIM OF SORTS??!!
@tobyoneil1969Ай бұрын
@@JohnathanGooner Yes. In regards to X, Maxxine actually manages to avoid alot of the stuff and at the end its Pearls own actions that allow Maxxine to walk out seemingly unscathed but when Pearl starts to deride her, Maxxine goes back to kill Pearl. She is victim by default but like nothing really major happens physically to her and she seems to not be bothered too much by whats happening around her and then goes out of her way to end Pearl? Not exactly not a victim as her life was threatened, her friends died but she was like, fine in the end?
