I already have and have enjoyed playing Medieval Dynasty as well as Farthest Frontier. I will wait for some updates and see which way its developing before buying this one.

It’s a lot of fun and extremely detailed, the mechanics have soul behind them. I have a good 50 hours already cannot stop playing It’s also a single developer who made the entire game, he’s the only one working on the codebase. Much better than the sanitized freeze dried excrement the billion dollar aaa industry shovels out

I agree, it is well designed. Even the implemented systems make sense, and absolute credit to the developer who has proven once again to the gaming community that you do not need a AAA budget to make a great game. Those with such budgets who fail to produce anything close to this should just switch to another industry altogether. I can absolutely recognize the hard work here. Essentially, what I'm saying is, if you want to support the project, do so in early access. If not, then wait for the full release rather than buying in early access and perhaps being disappointed and leaving a negative review. Negative reviews from disappointed users could have a negative long-term impact on the development, considering the game's potential and no one would wish that upon this game and the dev.

For early access, it's actually fun and I've sunk many hours on it already. Are there problems? Yes, it's early access. Is it fun? Also yes. Is it like Banished? I mean, almost all city builders are similarly built, so, also, yes. Would I recommend it? BIG YES. I can't wait to see the final product. And with the new patch drop today, which implemented more changes on the beta than previously promised, I'm pleased that the creators are listening to the community and moving forward in a positive direction. Time will tell if the result will be worth the hype in the end ultimately, but, so far, I'm eagerly awaiting the completed product. Off to play some more!

Valid points indeed, and I agree with what you said, but I was expecting a bit more. However, as you mentioned, it is still in early access, and people who see potential in the game should consider supporting the project, while those who don't should wait until later stages of development are completed to avoid unnecessary negative reviews. The new beta branch option is good, but it introduced some new bugs. For example, I was battling some bandits, and after relaunching with the new beta, the bandit units are now invisible for some reason, but only the ones that I was engaged with. Anyhow, the game is decent but has a long way to go.

@@Pixelated-Quest I was expecting way less, I'm actually surprised the game released in early access in such a good state. I have no idea why people expect early access nowadays to be just a glorified beta test before launch. I guess we can thank the AAA gaming industry again for using the term early access to sell pre-orders. Also medieval dynasty is a very different beast. Walking around in city builders, while it's not a new feature, for some reason it pretty much disappeared from modern games, so I'm not surprised people are really hyped for it. But yeah, it's basically just a photo mode. And that's fine.

@@mikloskoszegi I mean, yeah, early access seems to be some kind of a safe state release where the developers are not super sure what feedback they will receive, and they can always circle back to that argument. But since Manor Lords has a few bugs, I think it is good they released it in early access. And keep in mind, if you release in early access, you essentially have two release events on Steam: the early access release and then again when transitioning to full release, which means you get exposure from Steam twice, making developers more in favor of early access. Yep, you put that quite well into perspective; it is essentially a photo mode.😁

After 10+ hours - it became a bit meh - for me. But the game should be fine with updates - it’s pretty and easy to get into.

I know what you mean. Felt the same way after a while. But as you said, it should improve with future updates. For gamers who want to support this project, the early access stage and the current state of the game is a good way to start.

I refunded it because it's not what I wanted. I'll repurchase when I can build an actual kingdom like what is depicted on the main promotional image for the game. I'm looking to remake the world of Kingdom Come Deliverance, and I can't even do the first town.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It gets a bit tedious after the first settlement and is overall slow-paced. Not to mention that you don't see other leaders' settlements on the entire map, yet they own it...
