my main issue is that I'll have made sure all my food stalls are owned by the granary workers. However even when there's like 300+ of every food item, half my food stalls will be empty. Literally their entire job is to run a stall and they can't even haul the berries across the street?

This. I cant take it anymore. 3k Food and everybody is starving, they dont gather apples or carrots from the houses as well. Just sitting there and waiting, kills my game fun

yeah i'm getting seriously sick of it as well. have got 12 granary workers on it at all times and still they can't distribute the food decently across the plots

i've found a solution, literally destroy almost your entire market and leave just enough stalls to fit the amount of items you need. this way they will be forced to fill them up entirely. having a little marketplace with say 15-20 stalls is much, much better than this enormous area, because they will spread your goods so thin that all they're doing is transporting and not being able to fill up a single stall entirely. let's just say the granary workers aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, and you need to make it very easy for them. "me greg, i go bread market, stall 2, me friend grug also" kinda thing. also, if you notice that you haven't got room for something, find out which items are oversupplied and just manually delete the individual stalls, until they replace it with the type of stall you need

Sometimes artisan families do very good job filling stalls. I built a level-3 bakery, the 4 families in it were producing enormous amounts of bread so I let them have a couple of food stalls. They were filling them much better than granary workers did theirs.

I listened to this video this morning, and then this afternoon there's a new patch that makes food consumption random rather than using a list order. Now food will need to be much more balanced to ensure variety.

Thanks. Sounds good. Was hoping more on the specific of the market stalls. I've been trying to figure out why people don't stock their stalls. I can easily play with only 1, 3 stall market, up until ~200-300 people or tier 3 plots. Then I need to expand stall locations (aka. a new 3 stall market in a different location or add more food stalls), but they don't fill their stalls properly - ex. clothing stall opens with a storage worker, the storage has 200+ leather and 300+boots, but the stall gets filled with 5 leather (nothing more), for a long time. Curious if this would this work? 4 granary's specialized in 1 food type, one worker with 1 stall. 4 food stalls. Edit: just to clarify, it is "material/food" consumption of the availability in your market stalls, not what you own/have somewhere in your town (i.e. the top bar showing stock of goods, does not equal what your marketplace is doing, or the amount you have in storage/granary). Edit2: spelling. also adding each stall only has a capacity of 50.

What really bothers me is that my granary workers sometimes don't even stock their stalls. They just peddle one piece of meat even though there's a bunch of food right behind them in the granary. I cannot figure out this system.

They changed the 90% house pantry threshold in latest beta. Now items goes to granary / market first and then it fills up in-house.

I SELL apples and veggies and import meat and berries usually and eventually when i have a surplus of bread i sell that too. also importing tons of barley and making tons of beer and then exporting beer for 8-16$ is another really good one. import iron ore when its cheap and export weapons or tools or iron slabs but u have to closely watch as iron ore prices fluctuate rapidly. roof tiles are another. clay is cheap and the tiles sell for a decent price but u have to toggle export alot or the price crashes . when the price of shields falls export wooden parts instead. importing lambs for 10 and exporting sheep for 2 in the late game is another good passive wealth generator. obvoisly wood planks charcoal firewood and your initial wealth generators

Great vid, it's honestly something I figured out already myself for example the one time clothing thing. But for some reason my game still doesn't work properly especially with clothing - if I have 30 plots and 30 of each type of clothing in the stalls, my houses still don't receive them. Why? I literally have to force build houses on the outskirts for the supply to go up so my inner houses get goods. Even tho my market is stocked to the amount of clothing needed for each plot, a lot of the clothes just get lost somewhere. There's proper amount in the stalls and it doesn't reach the houses. Why? Maybe do some experimenting with that on a larger scale town.

Tonight - and we scrapping the let’s play of this build and building a new city - I got farms down to how much they produce so we’re doing a perfect city live - the new mechanics + what I know will flow well into an organic build. Now that I know how things work it’s easy for me to test and amend design on the fly

How do you keep production of Fuel with population above 1k? I notice I struggle to keep Fuel/Food. Sometimes I would be just happy to let my population die to keep some balance between both but also when the population gets too big I have to choose between one or the other.

I've got 50 families but my market totals are stuck at 40 of each clothing goods. I've got extra stalls, I dont know why it's not going up in line with housing. I thought each stall has a limit of 50, but my market totally seems to get stuck on 40 of each

I have an issue with some materials reaching the houses from the market. I have the recourses but they wont reach my houses further from the market aren’t getting any. The houses aren’t that far and the markets are right infront of the storage and granary. Any recommendations ?

Are the resources in the granary or the houses? Remember the pantry won’t empty on the current version till 90% full

You need to look harder at your resources. You must have as many of each resource as you have houses not collectively but indvidually. Say you have 30 houses and 25 of each resource - the 5 houses furthest from the market won't get any.

I even built an extra storehouse and granary to see if the employees would help move the stuff to the market. Should i build the markets closer to the houses even though most youtubers say build them in front of the storage and granary? Btw its pretty awesome that you replied to me. @@patrickkelly6691 i have alot 11 months of food and 10 months of firewood. I built extra market stalls to see if it helps but it doesn’t seem to have a positive effect. I’ve noticed that certain people want to work in the market and not just the storage workers. Does that have any effect on the speed in which they transport goods? Like is it better if the storehouse and granary workers work the markets. I even build an extra storehouse and granary cuz i watched this KZbinr say that it is them who restock the markets. Im going to try to import a butt load of items to see if that helps. I have 400 berries but i have some houses that aren’t getting any food at all (my population is around 120 all peasants with a few lvl 2 houses)

@@haknoo1981 I'm having a similar issue, at least early on; perhaps it's because I do not have a big enough surplus yet. But even when my market stalls have enough for the amount of plots I have, those resources somehow aren't available to them. Instead i'll have something abysmal like 70% coverage, even though I have 2x what I need per house per month/use

So...what can I do when I have 33 plots, and 5 food types at 33 in the *market* - yet my food efficiency is only 75% Shouldn't it be 100%? In fact I do not only have these 5 food-types at 33 for 33 plots, but I also have a 6th at 24 and the 5th at 2. 33 plots with ~100 families (lots ot t3 plots) 4 food stalls that are constantly filled at above mentioned level, for several months in a row, enough food and variety to last for years. It shouldn't matter what workers work on the stalls etc (for this specific case scenario), because the market is sufficiently provided for. What's going wrong. What could be causing the bug? I always feel this bug starts to appear as soon as I upgrade plots to t3.

Have you run into the problem of your apples not hitting the market I’ve seen a lot of threads on this but not many content creators talking about this. I would have 50+ apples but they all stay in the plots until the pantry is full. Can’t even trade them either.

Thought clothes were supposed to be consumed once/year. Seems like that would be reasonable and a 1 time consumption seems off. Selling lots of boots and leather here we come, especially while eggs are broken.

I've come to believe that these games are just really 27th Century versions of Westworld in disguise: pocket universes and micro-transporters (see BG3 backpacks, crates, and the single travel chest) with zero-point energy sources. Not sure how you get 800 berries every season. My node has 64 and i have one family picking and keep checking to see if they repopulate during the summer but I don't see it happening.

They "work" but I do not get money, I leave them for ages thinking perhaps I get taxes at the end of the year... we eventually die off due to boredom... and 10 gold in the bank

@@TacticatGaming Ah... I was doing something a little more complicated I see. I was just messing with the marketplace and did not have the Trading Post. So no income at all but stock in the granary and storehouse. I started the game a long time ago and the tutorials ran out. I forgot all about it and started playing again. I think I just needed a prod in the right direction, thank you sir!

The hardest part about games like this, is how unintuitive they can be. I think a jar of mayonnaise could manage a town in real life but in a game what would work in the real world just doesn't.

Regarding sizes of vegetable/apple, how do you consider tier 3 for the extra families? Is it worth it? I assume you want bigger fields then? Or do you exclusively recommend tier 2 double houses for production for simplicity?

The patch fixed huge issues making tier three viable - I’m still working things out - however I do like the ease of the tier 2 double plot and 2 families
