Doug, I know this is the load out of St. Catharines that went until you were heading west on Regional Road 23 in Wainfleet. I'm sure they routed you west on Hwy. 3 toward Dunnville and was curious as to how far west you were routed before you were able to head north.
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Жыл бұрын
We crossed the river in Dunnville then zig zagged our way through Hagersville then up to Brant then doubled back to Hwy 52 where we crossed the 403, up to 5 east then 6 all the way to Guelph

Do you have a video about you talking about your camera equipment? I'd like to know what you run, what you've tried, what works and what doesn't.
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Жыл бұрын
I’ve had this request before but no I haven’t had a chance to show how I do it yet. Honestly it’s not very special, GoPro’s and some drone shots. A lot of cameras plugged into chargers over night 🤣

Not sure why so few call it like it is. Man, that garbage truck driver was an idiot. The dump truck kindly tried to give you a break but pulled over just a bit too far and the cars were confused. BMW (I think) saw the reason almost immediately and stopped while the idiot CMV driver that you'd waited over minute on couldn't give you 3 seconds before advancing. Instead tried to force you into the car. Nice video and the curb jumping was basically perfect, left drives up to it but not rubbing.

Do they not put any utility lines underground in eastern Canadian Cities? Here in Alberta most new in most developments all the utilities are underground.

We are stuck in the old’n days 🤪
@Dexter037S44 ай бұрын
Utility lines in this area are mostly underground, Manotick was mostly built up in the 1930s as a farming community, Barrhaven has basically grown into it's own city in the last 5-10 years, and that's why most of the wires are being moved underground (along with the rising Tornado Threat).

you had asked me to repeat a question on another video, here goes. have you ever heard of putting your hands at the bottom of the wheel, like at 5 and 7, when backing a single trailer, you want to trailer to go right, you just lift your right hand? and so on.. just use your mirrors (yes of course) and lift the hand of the direction you want the trailer to go.. so many rvs will instinctively try to look over their shoulder when trying to back up,, especially a flatbed trailer. would you explain how you back a trailer set up, say you have a jeep in front and the one trailing the rear of the trailer, dont know what that one is call, seen in your vids that its trailing, not on a 5th wheel,, but how do you do it to back say around a corner,then get straight again? thanks
@stevem268 Жыл бұрын
i drove tractor trailer for years and now a bumper pull travel trailer. backing up a trailer to most commercial drivers is instinctive and therefore difficult to describe. i dont do the "bottom of the wheel" trick ever but i've also backed up trailers for years!
@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve heard of the bottom of the steering wheel trick. Good trick for people who don’t back up every day. After years of backing up every day it just becomes instinctive. Especially when I’m not in a rush I don’t always chose the easiest parking spot on purpose to challenge myself. You need to practice to stay good. It’s simple, the drivers who chose to avoid backing up as much as possible will never learn. Same goes for jeeps and double trailers. It’s all practice. The biggest thing to learn is when you drive into a yard how to pull forward into a position that is going to be advantageous for backing up. The next biggest mistake people make with jeeps is over correcting and chasing the jeep. Don’t chase a trailer. You tell the trailer where you want it to go!
@stevem268 Жыл бұрын
one tip is to always know where your inside trailer wheels are and watch them. backing in on your left side is easier than the right side
@lancecluster Жыл бұрын
@@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 The amazing part is how well you can backup with booster, long trailer, jeep, and of course truck. Especially when you have to back into a loading bay. Always interesting.

@luckybananaheavyhaul3407 Жыл бұрын
With this load we planned to only use the bucket truck if we got stuck somewhere. The wires skipped well over this load and we never used the bucket truck once. But it was nice to have it close by if we needed.
