I wonder when technology from Europe will come to the US, where heavy-duty trailers have all steering axles. Driving such a set must be a pain ✌🏻

Is there a reason why the container ships do not make a port call to Quebec. As always I really enjoy your channel.

Are there just officially no laws when you do this? Like I understand you have to get permits and escorts and have lots of training which you use to be safe but can you basically do anything because you're so massive are basically all laws suspended? Blocking intersections and taking the lanes you need is completely kosher? Obviously speeding and the like is not OK, I guess no driving wrong way down one way street too. Is what you can do formalize or is it just down to the virtue of you being an unmanoeuvrable road god?

You'd think they'd have a remote start stop button on the steering remote control box to shut down the trailer engine on the go.

Since Fred the Bassett hound is now your travelling companion, will your radio handle change to "Snowman" and your excorts become "Bandits"?

Yes, lots of construction on I-81 north of I-90. Just drove through there last week. And the bridge to Wellesley Island doesn't get any wider. Keep those videos coming.

Ya know, I just sat down to take a quick look at what you were up to with the 389 and that was two and a half hours ago. I'm curious to know what all the gauges are for on the dash. Maybe you could do a video on what makes that tractor tick. That would be nice.
@clutchitup986112 сағат бұрын
Just about all mechanical components you could think of. Engine, coolant, oil, transmission, exhaust, both rear end temps. Yes, temps for all those different parts. Others are your usual boost pressure gauge for turbo, volt gauge, oil pressure, speedometer, tachometer, maybe a load gauge for drives (shows how much weight is on back of truck) More are air pressure gauges, primary and secondary. There also could be one that shows how much pressure is going to brakes when pressing in brake pedal. Some trucks have a gauge that shows if your fuel filters are clogged up or not as well as a gauge that shows the same for your air filter. And some others that I'm forgetting to mention.

Doug, that port is massive. You must have burnt your hours for that just trying to get out of there.😜 question: there must be a real experienced team building the route plans for you guys to haul these loads. How much lead time does it take to build the plan and does anyone check the route selected will actually work when your supposed to be traveling through it? Hope I’m clear on the question I.e. one thing to plot a route on a map but another to validate that route is viable for the load your carrying.
@chicowildarizona15 сағат бұрын
Unloading a container ship takes less time than one might suppose. Regardless of the number of “cans” there are strict time limits and I’ve seen a couple completely emptied in 48 hours.

Douglas I'm curious about the rail line when leaving the port. Is that line a spur or do you have to coordinate super loads crossing the rail line with train movement?
