Mansa, I think the notion that an island is must in every kitchen is overrated. What is the purpose of having an island in the first place? Is it because, one needs more countertop space? Is it because it provides a seating area in the kitchen to have breakfast, instead of using the dining table in the dining room? My point is that sometimes forcing an island into a space, because it is the fashionable thing to do can be counterproductive. For example, it could make the kitchen look smaller based on the kitchen design and space. It could also make the space around the island tight and restrict movement and traffic. So, let's not be quick to dump islands in every kitchen for the sake of it.

Hey dennis, The point of us mentioning that an island "CAN" fit is so we can try and paint a picture of the scale of space inside that kitchen, secondly the functionality of an island is what determines it’s usefulness in a space and thirdly who said it’s wrong to create wonderful aesthetics to your home/kitchen if an island means so?

@@willyskihumba Willy, in the main I am not against islands, if it makes good sense. What I am essentially saying is that the design and space in some kitchens can't accommodate islands. In that case, you don't force an island in the space just because it is aesthetically pleasing. Otherwise, the result could be counterproductive; specifically it could make the kitchen look contrained and smaller, or restrict the free flow of movement and traffic around the kitchen. The kitchen in this particular house does not require an island for the reasons stated.

The stones design is called bush hammered, hand chiseled and a quite an old trade. Luckily it has gained traction in the recent past and we'll embraced by those who love stone finishes. Blends well with zero joint. However it's tedious and a bit expensive to achieve it

I do not endorse what the govt is doing with housing levy so I don’t think I will ever feature that project. Plus I’m at the forefront of fighting this government for all the corruption and bad leadership and show casing those houses might come out as a vote of confidence in Ruto which is not the case

It needs someone to showcase to create awareness especially at this moment that any substandard work will be apprehended and fuel the fight incase the housing project has no value for money.

@@billyruita8155 they would never allow me close to that project unless I’m praising it! Some of them watch this show and they and they know my stand on the current regime which they are part of! They will be there following our every step just to make sure I’m there to clean them up. It’s too much hustle and I honestly do not think it’s worth the hustle. I will review them when the regime changes, hopefully for better, and expose them for the rot and theft on Kenyans’ taxes that they are!
