i think shingling in the spring to let all the summer sun to seal the shingles and you are right about the extra sealant on the tabs to prevent wind damage

Hello from Michigan thank you for the info. i have a mansard roof on my outbuilding. Been here 14 years and now its losing shingles and has a leak on the top edge. seems like its going to be too cool to do it right (for the shingles to adhere properly) until next summer. So im going to do a temporary patch job with roof tar, caulk or?? Well at least its just the outbuilding the house has a well built hip roof.

The house I have has a mansard roof and top paint has low slope. I’m in Tennessee so it’s warmer but still get cold below freezing. I can tell there are lots of leak before because the decking are soft. Hate to see your video after I bought the house

Hi Jon. Great info. What do you recommend for shingles? or do you go to metal style panels? etc I live in Ontario, so I understand the weather lol

What about Architectural shingles vs 3 tab on Mansard? Obviously 6 nail and hand sealing - but is one type of shingle preferable?
