i dont have this brand but got one off ebay and although i find direct sound is good, the cushioning and thickness makes it hot and can get unconfortable. fyi i live in Sydney NSW for reference. i just use an old phone and leave it under the pillow.

Phone under the pillow is a great idea! I do like having the direct sound on the ears for white noise though, works better for drowning out surrounding noise
