The only reason I haven't picked up this game is that I'm lucky enough to still have all of my Man O War collection. But I must say, Mantic's Armada is such a cool looking game with great looking fleets that it is extremely tempting! Thanks for the review Rob!

Rob is the game mat the standard one in the two-player set or is this a 3rd party mat? Looking at pictures of the starter box the game mat looks square not rectangular like you have.

I've been wanting this game but already invested heavily in SW Armada. Though different games they have similar play styles. Therefore haven't been able to convince myself to pick it up.
