I love your understated title. Should be … comparing AMAZING signals. Your comparisons are great, no bias, no bs, just a couple guys with two great detectors out for an amazing hunt, looks like there were two winners! That draped bust and ‘77 were awesome! Looking forward to the next hunt!

I think it best not to say what you think it is before the second person gives their response. I think only once you did this. It is leading to say I think it is a whatever. Best to hear what t they think first. As always you put out top of the line videos. Some of the best out there.

What was it like detecting in the 70s compared to today? Silvers left and right?
@DetectorComparisons Жыл бұрын
The detectors did not go that deep yet we came back with a pocketful of Silver's every time we went out. No discrimination so we dug everything

Can you tell me what headphones model number Jimmy was using for the manticore Also they going to be making the headphones that have a probe attached to the headphones for the manticore
@DetectorComparisons Жыл бұрын
Jimmy was using the gray ghost wireless headphones made for the Manticore. The uniprobe that I was using is also available for the Manticore. You could read about them and see a list of dealers at detectorpro.com

Depending on how much corrosion there is, I use a 0000 steel wool then I add Verdicare and buff it dry. The Verdicare really brings out the color

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-zus!!!!!! my jaw is still on the desk from that draped bust largie OMFG how in the world did you miss all of that stuff?!?!?!?!!?
@DetectorComparisons Жыл бұрын
Besides the pocket watch, most of the stuff was with or near iron. It was my first time there but I know the guys that hunted it previously with their CTXs were all very good. We obviously don't always get this quality but we've been going back too many old sites with these new Fast machines and we're pulling out so many targets out of worked out areas.
@davemiller8215 Жыл бұрын
@@DetectorComparisons i've been doing the same carter; its funny because sometimes, it appears i did a killer job the first time i was there with the NOX....and other sites it is like i was never there before!!!lol....must be the iron content difference at the different sites. was curious why you run you D2 at only 2 on the recovery speed and in such areas with alot of iron, the DISC only at 6.5?? i have found that with the lightning processor speeds of the D2, that in crappy areas, i can run the DISC in the 40-50 area and pick alot of deeper stuff that has been missed by everyone else(that is why i run my recovery speed at 1/2 -1 to grab as much depth as i can
@DetectorComparisons Жыл бұрын
@@davemiller8215 I keep the disc low because I like to hear all the iron. I still find the D2 gets excellent depth with the recovery speed at 2 while being able to separate the good targets from the iron.

Wow, awesome hunt! Love all of your finds. Congrats! Can Jimmy share all of his settings on the manticore that he used? Still waiting for my manticore to arrive.
@DetectorComparisons Жыл бұрын
Absolutely, we're going to be shooting another video going back to this spot in the next couple of days and he'll talk more detail about the settings. He's pretty excited about how it's working now. The only drawback is the Deep iron still is a little bit of a problem but he'll explain what he's done in the settings to make it better.

@@DetectorComparisons Thank you! Good luck on your next hunt...
@jimzilladetecting Жыл бұрын
Is this particular hunt I was using all terrain general but my audio profile was “depth” because of all the iron. I find “depth” audio really brings those non ferrous targets out in heavy iron. The only drawback is everything sounds the same so you have to look at the screen always. My recovery speed was 4-5 depending on how much iron there was. I always hunt in open screen because I like the hear the iron. My sensitivity ranges from 19-23 at this site because things are not that deep and too high of a setting in a carpet of nails and you won’t be able to slice through the iron as well. Hope this helps

Awesome finds! I don't understand your numbers on the deus2 because they seem lower than what I find with my deus2. The large cents have always given me a 95 or higher and copper cents are normally a 90-88. The half real and 2 real were both around 95. Modern Quarters are normally a 95. I guess it appears I should be digging lower numbers but I'm sick of finding lead and shotgun shell heads. Pretty much everything I have ever dug under an 86 was not a coin.
@DetectorComparisons Жыл бұрын
If your coppers are US large cents and they are not worn thin or heavily corroded, they can read 94 to 95 pretty consistently. There are also many factors that could change the numbers for example if there is iron nearby or if the coin is heavily corroded or heavily worn. Not all coppers are equal... in general large cents will read higher than State Coppers. Not sure why you read a half real at 95. I find half reals are pretty consistent reading about 89 to 90. Even on the D2 is very accurate when displaying Target ID numbers, I rely more on the sound of the target.
@Jason-zp4ly Жыл бұрын
I have used a Whites VX3 and Garret AT for years. You may be convincing me to get a D2. I have a great site which has been swung to death and I am starting to believe the D2 may just be the change needed. There has to be more.
