Mantis is one my favorite champs since she first arrived in the game. I loved her from day one, I still think she is crazy underrated. It's crazy how many champions and nodes that she can handle. To me, she's like Human Torch, Bishop and Nimrod. They do great damage, can destroy the class they have an advantage against and they specialize in some type of fights. I don't agree with on two things : - Her buffs wasn't that great, she ramps up mixed emotions quicker and does more damage but she needed a buff in utility, like a passive slow on the opponent once at 10 mixed emotions, she is designed as a Science killer but a lot of Science champions have access to evasion or unstopabble and that can bother her a lot (though the Sandman synergy helps her a little regarding evasion champs) - She does need her awakened ability at high sig and even at max sig. It doesn't seem that big at first but I have the happy owner of a 7r1 Mantis and a 6r4 Mantis, I use my 6r4 Mantis way more because I get that Tranquilize up on the opponent longer but also because that 50% chance or Debuff AAR is so good, that allows her to take on Bishop while his steady release is active, that allows her to take on Havok and his Plasma Build Up debuff, to take on champs like Vision Aarkus, Hulkbuster, Morningstar, Werewolf By Night, Man-Thing way more safely. Her preventing more debuff from applying on her allows her to ramp up her mixed emotions even more quickly (which allows to play more safely because you don't need her intercepts). You combine that 50% Debuff AAR with her sp1 that can purify 2 debuffs (or gain 2 purify charges) and you get a champ that can take on pretty much take on any debuffs heavy fights. I just think she still isn't considered one of the very best Skill champions because she is greatly misunderstood, for instance her sleep passive isn't a stun so she can stun immune champions (which is good against Nick Fury on 2nd life for instance) but her sleep still has the effects of a stun (she cancels regeneration from Ultron, Guillotine 2099, Hulkbuster, etc..). She is basically debuff immune against Science champions and even if it's other classes, except against AAR immune champions and she is a basically 50% chance guaranteed immunity against all debuffs in the game against other classes at max sig. It's just that her Tranquilize effect is treated like the Neutralize effect was when it was first introduced in the game with Tigra and she also needs champions that will highlight that ability, Void, Photon, Sandman and Mr Negative are good ones and also when nodes that inflict passive heal block will come be more frequent (thus rendering Kingpin less relevant)

Agreed, yes and yes. I pulled and awakened her way back when she got the buff. Then went R2 and played with her a bit more, but still wasn’t fully convinced to R3. I now have her duped 6X! Gonna give her R3 and another serious look.

I love her. Such a great champ! Slowing down hits into block to keep the debuffs off is the same as slowing down hits into NC block to get him to switch modes. Love it! She will be my skill r2 unless I decide to r5 zemo for Necropolis.

My controversial hot take: she needs a nerf. The combination of a fast ramp up, ease of ramp up, incredible damage output when ramped, and the wide number of defenders that she works against is just too much. 😅
