No problem with the strap after three seasons and a lot of anchoring and drops and retreivals but I did just order up two spares. Like you said, it can get slippery when wet. 5/16" one if that helps

how much chain do you let out after attaching the M2 Chain Hook
@TropicalSailingLife2 ай бұрын
depends on the bridle ... let out enough to get about 5ft of slack on your snubber

I will be getting a Mantus Briddle, but concerned that fastening the briddle to existing chain rode will prevent it riding over the roller. I notice at 2:32 there appears to be an editing. Did you have to assist the anchor hook over the roller?

On our own roller, we have 2 guides and we have to manually guide the 2 lines to the bridle over the roller to make sure they do not get stuck on the se guides bars. Without thes e 2 side bars, there should be no problem :)

The securing strap is crap and broke after a month! Now what? Why would you recommend this chain hook?
@TropicalSailingLife Жыл бұрын
So far the securing strap is doing fine, did not beak yet ... But I admit that sometimes it get slippery when algies grow in the water and when I am bringing the chain up. it might slip through my fingers ... So I agree with you that the securing strap could be improved .... perhaps making it longer with a loop that you can slide a finger in it and pull easily even when wet & slippery. Perhaps suggest it to Mantus, I am sure they would like to improve their products

I replaced mine with an 10 inch section of 2 inch wide velcro strap. Easy to get and replace when wears out.

This chain hook is total garbage and they plastic strap will constantly break. The old Mantus chain hook was was way better.
