@joseckmosomi7155 I'm from Nairobi, Kenya and I was present at this concert, April 2007 (Barbican) London. I too grew up listening to this song thanks to my parents, and my late uncle who was a music connoisseur. This was the last song and the joy in the auditorium was palpable. Prior to this, I'd watched him play at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club in Autumn (Nov) 2005. II managed to finangle a hug. Lovely man. One for the ages.

Although Manu Dibangou had known and worked with the author of this song, this song is by Franklin Boukaka.

What a momentous occasion to have the great (African) Jamaican - British saxophonist Courtney Pine sharing the stage with our African legend and a whole orchestra. The great re-union of Africa and its long lost diaspora. Music has a language all of its own.

So sad to hear about the passing away of Manu Dibango due to Covid 19. He was an icon of contemporary African music and one of the pioneers in bringing African music to music lovers on other continents, such as I. It opened my ears to new rhythms and to new musical worlds and continues to bring me much joy and enrich my life.

@@angiehortensegnakoua7069 I was priviledge to hug him. Prior to this, I saw him perform at Ronnie Scott's Jazz club in Soho (London) Autumn 2005. I was queuing up for the cloak room (at about 2300hrs), and I see this man inching his way down the stairs and just before he passed me, I asked him, are you...Manu Dibango and when he nodded I just threw my arms around him. I grew up hearing his voice (his music) permeating our home for ours on end, so to actually meet him face to face was insane. He was going for a walk to clear his head before the show. How I wish I had tagged along, but I felt very shy after accosting him. I had a front row seat that night and it was INSANE; the band was so tight I couldn't tell the difference between the percussions, drums, bass and marimbas (xylophones). I went home in a daze.

@@Me.Muscovy Sadly I came in late, I only managed to see a handful of performances, the piece de resistance of course was this number, it was the closing number. As you can see it was delicious. I was queuing up for the cloak room (at about 2300hrs), and I see this man inching his way down the stairs to go to the exit and just before he passed me, I asked him, are you...Manu Dibango? And when he nodded, I just threw my arms around him and hugged him hard. I grew up hearing his voice (his music) permeating our home for hours on end, so to actually meet him face to face was insane. This is music at another level. Prof. Emmanuel DIBANGO, was consummate in everything music. Arrangements of instruments, ranging from Drums, Toumba, Guitars, Harps and Trumpets, and the legendary Saxophone! This gentleman was peerless. He was down to earth and humble. Extremely cool. As a composer, lead vocalist and multi talented instrumentation, he scored second to no one. He straddled Africa, Europe and the world, as does a colossus. I rank him parri passu with the likes of Sadao Watanabe, Luis Armstrong and all other Jazz legends. He has bequeathed to us, real gold in form of timeless music, that will be savoured with relish by generations, unto eternity. To me, he is a Saint. May God eternally rest his beautiful soul in eternity, Amen.
