Hello my friend. I just tried this for the first time. Not sure if I have done it properly. Even though my rear brake works, the brake lever is too close to the grip when I press the brake. It is twice as close as my front. I also changed the rear caliper and put new pads in, so I cannot understand why the lever is close to the grips. Can you help me please?
@VirberelloScooterTips
@VirberelloScooterTips 11 ай бұрын
Certainly, I can provide some guidance on this issue. If the brake lever is too close to the grip after bleeding the brake fluid and changing the rear caliper and pads, there could be a few reasons for this: Air in the Brake Line: Air bubbles may still be present in the brake line. Make sure to properly bleed the brake system again to ensure all air is removed. Ensure that the brake fluid reservoir is kept topped up during the bleeding process. Improper Bleeding Technique: Ensure that you followed the correct bleeding procedure for your scooter. Sometimes, a specific sequence needs to be followed to remove all air from the brake system. Brake Adjustment: Check if there are any adjustments on the brake lever itself. Some scooters have adjustable levers that allow you to change the distance from the grip. If so, you can adjust the lever to your preferred distance. Brake Pad Installation: Confirm that the brake pads are installed correctly. Sometimes, improper installation of brake pads can affect the lever position. Ensure that the pads are seated properly in the caliper and that there are no obstructions. Master Cylinder Issues: The master cylinder may have some issues. Check if there is any leakage around the master cylinder or if there are any visible problems. If needed, rebuild or replace the master cylinder. Brake System Inspection: Inspect the entire brake system for any leaks or loose connections. Make sure all components are in good condition and properly tightened. If, after checking these points, the issue persists, it might be a good idea to consult with a professional mechanic or refer to your scooter's service manual for specific troubleshooting steps. Brake systems are critical for safety, so it's crucial to ensure they are functioning correctly. I hope this can help you

Hello. Thanks for the advice I will check as much as I can. I go to garage tmrw for tyre change so may be able to get a bit of help. After thinking about how I did it I may have done the bleeding wrong. I think I was pumping then closing the lever, then opening and closing the nipple and then repeating. Another chap I watched opens the nipple, compresses the lever, closes the nipple and then opens the lever. Seems to be more than one way to do it, but I think the way I did it was wrong and has caused this problem. @@VirberelloScooterTips

So its safe to say this will take some time before pressure can be made?
@VirberelloScooterTips
@VirberelloScooterTips 11 ай бұрын
before you ride the scooter you need to make sure you have pressure in your brake if you don't make an inspection of your fluid line and try to pressure again your brakes by opening the valve at the caliper and pulling the brake and without releasing the brake close the caliper valve

After bleeding the breaks until I could not see any more air bubbles I went for a test ride and notices a little difference but still not 100%. Would this be because I did not bleed the brakes enough or do I need to bleed the master cylinder? - Cheers@@VirberelloScooterTips

How to replace RH brake master cylinder only on 2017 GY6?

I have a question. My bank is being held back and it sounds like the front brake pads are rubbing on the road so would I have to bring those and it came from the warehouse that way so I have to bleed them or not I don’t know how to replace it. Fix that problem.
@VirberelloScooterTips
@VirberelloScooterTips 7 ай бұрын
It sounds like your front brake pads are rubbing against the rotor, which can be a common issue with new scooters. Here are a few steps you can take to diagnose and fix this problem: Check Brake Pad Alignment: Sometimes the brake pads can be slightly misaligned. Check to see if the pads are properly seated in the caliper and not tilted or off-center. Inspect for Debris: Make sure there is no debris or dirt between the brake pads and the rotor, as this can cause rubbing and noise. Brake Caliper Adjustment: The caliper might need adjusting. Loosen the bolts holding the caliper slightly, then squeeze the brake lever to center the caliper over the rotor before tightening the bolts again. Bleeding the Brakes: If the brake lever feels spongy or if there's air in the brake lines, you might need to bleed the brakes. This involves opening the brake fluid reservoir, attaching a tube to the brake bleeder valve, and pumping the brake lever while opening and closing the valve to let out air bubbles. If you're not familiar with this process, it might be best to have a professional do it. Check for Warp: Inspect the rotor to ensure it's not warped. A warped rotor can cause continuous rubbing and will need to be replaced if it is. If the scooter arrived from the warehouse with this issue, it might be covered under warranty, so you could contact the seller or manufacturer for support or possible replacement of faulty parts. If you're uncomfortable performing these checks and repairs yourself, taking your scooter to a professional mechanic is a good idea.

Hello my friend when you ride your scooter the center of gravity for fluid change so if you forward the gravity fluid are pointing back so there’s a possibility that you have low brake fluid in the reservoir or you have air inside the caliper so the easy thing to do is to place your scooter level and on the center stand and check your reservoir if you have brake fluid and add more if you need . Hello Duke if the valve was open for 1 hr for sure you lost lots of brake fluid and you enter air in the caliper so you will need to place little more fluid in the reservoir and build up pressure on the line and push out few air bubble that you have inside the caliper or in the brake line I'm not familiar on Kymco if you you like to place a photo or make little video of the engine go to Chinese Project Scooters on facebook group there is lots of good members with good knowledge and I'm in there too.
