I have been playing PES since its 04 version and I feel that was a revolution interns of football gaming.. Even if u play pes04 today with Real Madrid or Brazil, u will fall in love with that.. From that day hv never bothered to play Fifa (only on lan wid frnds smtyms).. Pes19 also hv been game changer, will install pes20 soon on pc.. Its fun to play on keyboard.. Also, Fifa thugs had copied their Become a Legend version.. That's was so creative by PES.. Thank you Konami for such a beautiful game ❤️

I stopped playing PC, and got my self a PS4 years ago. Replaced with new PS4 Pro in it's place. It's obviously inferior to a PC, but I was satisfied with it. Until my PS4 Pro sounds like a lawn mower, with a few PS4 games and one of them is PES 2020. I'd usually say it's my fault for not keeping the PS4 clean, but it's not the case it's a new machine and it's well taken cared for. Seems they wanted a good looking game released, and they didn't care if it burns out the internal parts for gamers. Edit: Hey there's PS5 around the corner, so they are doing SONY a favour. It's really funny how all game with 2020 had problems with them, on release. Let's not mention WwE 2020, what a disappointment.

I've been playing Full Manual since PES 2016 and I cannot for the life of me understand why more players haven't done this. It's the only way to play PES. I play full manual on my channel only and it's been a hell of an experience.

As long as Konami provides asisstes settings, they will be used by the majority of players. By people who think it's too hard to learn. By online players who place success over everything. And by the "professionals" who play on PA3. THREE, ffs! Quite the pros they are. I wish Konami had the guts to say, f it. It's only manual from now on. So that a) everyone had to learn it, thus providing more realistic looking games for everyone and b) they themselves finally just had to play and test manual gameplay so are forced put some effort into eradicating bugs and fine tune manual passing. I feel that noone at konami actually plays that way.

If you haven't already try switching to a camera that has no angle and activate the little arrow at your players feet that shows where you manual pass or shot would go at all times. It might be challenging to adjust your mindset from "aiming at the player" to "aiming at where I want to ball to go". Once this "clicks" in your head, it makes all the difference. For low through balls I feel no difference in using A or Y (X or Triangle). And it might help to move your receiving players with Super-Cancel, especially with through, in order to move freely keep your momentum. If you're not already, get very familiar with Super-Cancel. These are some basic Tipps. Maybe @KnightMD will make a video on some general Tipps when making the switch to manual?

Since Fifa 2005 and PES 6 I'm playing on Broadcast camera. Fifa 16 next gen on PC was incredible on Broadcast. Also Fifa 20 with mods is good on Broadcast camera. But PES is masterpiece.

I was REALLY, really into learning the manual passing because i was an avid PES 6 player and when switching to PES 2020, all my friend here plays in assisted/type 3 passing support, and because of that they play really fast. Needless to say, to compete with them, i cannot mantain the manual passing and only able to do type 1 support, the minimal assisted one XD Great video tho, really helps!

My friends and I switched to manual passing and shooting on FIFA just for laughs 😅. Obviously the game became way more entertaining because of the hilarious plays and fails at first but as we got better, we actually felt rewarded by more advanced and intricate tactics that could also very easily fail from one loss of focus. No more ridiculous passes, long shots, or unrealistic tiki taka. Every shot at goal needed a clear and open window. Difficult shots from distance often flew out of control. Players couldn't contort themselves to make impossible shots and passes. Even normally telegraphed plays became less predictable. One major thing learned was risk management and the reward from being surprised your opponent was actually able to pull off a stupendous goal (that they probably couldn't recreate soon after). Not to brag but I actually hit the crossbar once with an overhead kick😎 Manual passes, crosses, throughs, shooting, player switching and to an extent goalkeeping raised the skill level of the game and made us feel like we wanted to actually master this rubbish games for once. There's potential, I just feel like something at EA and Konami needs to force the players to take of the training wheels and explore how great beautiful these games can really be.

I just ordered PES 2020 for the PS4 and tried out manual passing on PES 2019 in the meantime. Takes a while to get used to, but I'm getting there. I hope the graphics are somewhat similar to what I see you have on the PC version, it looks like real life in some instances.

Instead of Manual pass, you can use advanced through pass for even better flexibility and accuracy. Advanced through pass can also solve your crossing problem when you lob them. USE advanced shooting too.

Noticed that the default, not patched broadcast camera fits best for manual passing for me. 1 - Somehow the game became more responsive when playing on broadcast. May be because of the closer view??? 2 - Default broadcast camera player direction perfectly corresponds to your gamepad stick direction. When the camera is altered there is a bit mess in players direction.

Once you play PES 2020 you will never play FIFA again, the only issue I have is the quality of opposition on PES can be stiff, most of the people I play online are from Brazil and for some reason these dudes are hard to beat. Besides the tactical difference in PES the player controls are way more player centric, while you can get beat overt the top once during a match the defending AI if you have decent players in your team will not allow it twice. Manual dribble and passing make this game a winner versus the generic game that is more popular.

I gave PA0 a chance, but ended up settling on mixed PA1+manual. With PA0, through-passes near traffic become such a frustrating experience, too many mistakes. (I gave it enough games) But PA0 is great training for mixed, because now you are much better at recognizing when a manual pass is a better % play. Then the mistake rate is mostly decided on how often can you keep yourself from unintentionally triggering a (failed) assisted pass in a situation that was better served by manual. Other than that, everything you list in this video, is correct, and mastering manual passing is a great upgrade to the overall gameplay experience.

better than that: you unlock full game. Try shooting to goal with a L2 triangle or lob with a L2 circle. In fuma triangle allows you to make rapid passing decision (or shooting) because player will pass the ball as soon as possible at the cost of minor to ugly precision. With X he will try to position his foot right for the pass thus lose time. Don't get me wrong X is Deadly for a through pass because player will not react the same to a triangle and an X. Both are usefull. Also instead of the R2 square, you can try L1 circle if the keeper is a bit advanced or decentered. The shot will be more straight. Finally for me the most rewarding but difficult one is the "square cross". It takes time to understand how to place your player to intercept the ball and head it in the net. But once you got it ohhhhh gosh.

For me you should set the type of assistance differently on passes, crosses and shots. I've tried to play in the manual too, and no matter how decent the passes and shots became, and no matter how good the gameplay and the fluidity of the maneuver, the crosses were almost always wrong, with results that were absolutely unrealistic. This led me to build an action that was always just passes, almost completely eliminating the crosses. I didn't like that and went back to semi-assisted. If I could choose which one to turn into manual and which one to keep in semi-assisted, I would have no doubt about it.

Have you tried crossing while holding L1/LB? For some years now I, and many others, feel it makes the difference between "a lofted pass" and a "real" cross. Just one of the things the game doesn't tell you.

I remember playing in all manual lobbies in fifa 11 (?) There was a good amount of players..but then it dropped off significantly. And I could never find a match Even playing locally against friends I would always play 100% manual, even though I'd end up losing. There's just something about building up the play down to picking where to shoot other than just button mashing the pass button until you're inside the box. The shenanigans on superstar and legend fuma these days are ridiculous. In case anyone wondering, stats still effect full manual play. Stats effect animations, ball physics etc and pass success

Tried it after this video. The game suddenly becomes more challenging and it gives you room to find space by yourself. Also just playing a high ball forward at the start of a match wouldn't be as easy and it becomes more a challenge to master the game. I get less quickly bored, because you don't play the same pass over and over again. I should also recommend advanced shooting like in the video. With that you can also aim in the high corner while hitting the ball not that hard. In that case, your player will give more height to the ball, so it can come down because it's a slow ball with less lift and it still goes in the top corner. Great against keepers standing too far from the goal. It will give the ball a dip, so the keeper doesn't come even close to touching it. You should try it and play around with it. It gives you much more control over the shot.

I've switched to FUMA (full manual) some weeks ago too, and woaw !! It's the kind of improvement that once you make it, you're like " how have i lived without this before ??" It is sooooo much more enjoyable and rewarding , but for me the biggest difficulty is manual shooting : oh my god is it so hard to aim, the habit of just pointing up or down is a b*tch to lose haha :p just shooting on target is now an accomplishment !

Been playing for 10+ years. Only ever on FUMA - I was outraged when I discovered something called "pass assist" even existed. Try using Advanced Lofted Throughball for anything in the air - crosses, throughballs over the top, chipping the keeper, etc. Much more realistic, and accurate. Game is still utter trash though, unfortunately. Even on FUMA, it's still 96% a movie that just happens TO YOU.

In previous years, I just felt like there was a disconnect between passer and target when I used manual, like the guys just wouldn't have the awareness to adjust to the ball. Quite possible that it was just user error, but whatever the case, this year I've cracked the code and couldn't be happier. Not only does full manual make literally every ball interesting, and allow you more angles to get passes through, but it has completely solved my biggest gripe about the game in recent years, which was my consistent dominance of possession against the CPU. I would lose games big on Superstar but still hold 60+% possession nearly every game. Now it feels like a challenge to get better than 50%, which is how it should be.

My problem with manual through passes is that most times the AI-controlled players don't seem to get when the passes are intended for them and just stand still. With assistance, the pass gets locked on to the player and he automatically makes the right movement to get to the ball. I guess sending them on runs manually could help, but triggering the run + getting the right direction and strength on the pass + dealing with the pressure from the opposition is just too much to deal with all at once.

I play manual passing and manual shooting on Legend difficulty. I’ve been doing this for a while now. It makes it so much more rewarding when you score goals and win games. With manual shooting my advice is to not use finesse shot (R1,RB) rather just shoot normal but use less power or correct your body position. Sometimes even using the pass button to shoot can be effective. I definitely have the hang of it now but I still make mistakes and misplace passes and shots. I just find it so much more rewarding knowing that I have crafted the chance and finished it myself with 0 assistance apart from the players abilities in passing and shooting which makes a small difference I would argue. Definitely recommend it though! Btw I struggled with crossing for a while too but now I have no doubt and I just play what I see it doesn’t always go exactly where I wanted it to but when it works get ready for that dopamine hit because you know you crafted it from your own ability!

i dont fancy the assisted passing either , seems to break the flow of attacks compared to parallel through balls but when using manual passes, the animation tech is still not there yet and slight problematic pass intensities which result in "bad passes" look awkwarder than it should )... so I think occasional manual (modifier on L2) passes is spot on

Couple of things here. I myself have been playing on manual passing for some years now, feeling that PES2018 provided the best expierience. 2019 was, meh and with 2020 it varies slightly from Data Pack to Data Pack, but is overall a step up from 2019. Also it's concerning how good you already seem to be compared to me :D on superstar? man, you're a natural. Even more so considering the camera you playing on! I could never get into playing manual with the angling cameras. I mostly play on a slightly altered "fan view" cam. I have one major, and some minor complains about manual passing in PES2020 and I'm interested in how you feel about it. the biggest problem, to my experience, isn't to put the ball where I want it (this one can learn rather quickly; I'd say), but for the game itself to recognize whom the pass was intended for. The cursor switching, to me, feels really annoying this year, especially with manual passing. I could play the perfect pass only for the cursor to switch to the wrong player. This is even more a problem with high crosses, as the game often switches between two or three players in the box while the ball is in the air. That makes shooting or heading manually a pain, because of the directional input not being only left/right/neutral but rather relative to the player I thought was to take the shot or header, if you know what I mean. Also, the power gauge feels a little inconsistent from time to time, especially apparent with shot lay offs but also longer low passes where I'd almost max the power gauge but the ball would only travel a couple of meters. Seems to be a bug. You know how with Pass support enabled you could hold L1/LB to before your player receives the ball to initiate let's say a one-two pass or a chipped shot or want to have a teammate make a run (L1+RS). with manual passing, when you press L1/LB in thee situaitons, you would switch the cursor away from your player. Something that never seems to happen with pass support enabled. So this basically robs you over several options. How do you feel about your forwards taking on the ball, especially when you play low through balls? I for one, tend to use Super-Cancel A LOT to move my forwards before the receive the ball in order to prevent them from stopping to a halt in order to get the ball. I find this really hard to explain with words (English isn't even my first langauge). I hipe you get what I mean, though. When I don't move the forwards while holding super-cancel they hardly ever get to the ball without losing most or any of their momentum, the way I intended. What's your experience here? Do you use super cancel in these situations? If not, you should really try to use it more, to make the most out of your through balls. These a the main problems I have with manual passing. Don't get me wrong, I love playing on manual, even manual shooting (often referred to as "full manual" when both passing and shooting are on manual) but I feel that the dev team at KONAMI don't really pay a lot off attention to playing manually. Some issues around this have been in there for years now and I can only hope that for future installements they test this mode more and make it even more enjoyable for more people. maybe someday getting rid of pass support altogether. Manual passing isn't really that hard, imho, if you're willing to invest time in it. It's just made unnecessarily frustrating at times by badly optimized manual gameplay. I mean, you're pobably in your "honeymoon-phase" right now, so almost everything around it seems like a massive upgrade to the dull pass support but come time, you'll probably be more aware of the problems. Hope you keep at it and have a great time. I could never go back to pass support. p.s. oh, I almost forgot. Maybe you could make a video on manual high passing, especially high through balls? Some use L1+triangle. Some swear L1+circle is the best way. or maybe just circle. maybe vary depending on the situation? Have you already experimented with the various options? Anyways. Great video, hope you encourage more people to make the switch to manual passing. this is the easy part. manual shooting, though... It's a different beast :D

Thanks for the write up! Yeah switching isn't perfect but it beats assisted passing when the engine decides my ball will go to a different player then screws up the switching.

I've been playing manual for years too! Totally agree on player switching! The only workaround that works for me is to use high pass support in the attacking tactic (about 8 bars). This would make players spread a bit more rather then running close to the player having the ball. Playing tiki taka would make this problem even worse. Do you have issues with dp8? Somehow i feel passes is heavier. My muscle memory on how much i should press power bar now feels a bit messed up. I also agree that u said they didn't really pay attention to manual passing players. I feel like this game, and fifa too (played manual there before too before i ditched fifa) add small improvements, like weird first touch error, to make the game feels realistic to cater players who play assisted, or else the game feels lot more robotic if u get what i meant. It's because we manual players know how much power we press for passing, though the ball rolls slowly, still the receiver could do stupid mistake. Hahah. Power gauge inconsistencies is even worse for centre back defender. Max out power, but the ball rolls slowly allowing the opponent strikers to intercept. This i suspect is that stupid "realism player mistake" for assisted passing players.

Firstly I am a vet I’ve played since 95 ,so manual is great , however online u will have no chance I mean seriously.u made the game look amazing I’ve started a master league after maybe 5 years of avoiding the mode , it’s absolutely perfect for manual passing I love it , I play online so much I forgot how good it was to do big transfers and go from div 2 to premier league . Any one fancy a match let me know lol

This is why eFootball 2022 is the GOAT of soccer games. It takes the worst of manual passing, and default passing, and merges them. Too many soccer gamers still have hair, and this year Konami is hell bent on fixing that. It sucked being able to control where the ball went, or having the option of easily switching between manual and default passing. lol in all seriousness just stick with PES 2021/Season Update. Nice video.

I will try PES. I play manual passes in fifa since years and it did not improve at all. Manual lob sucks in fifa and is not really working since 2 years. Once one discovers manual passing, it is so much fun, one just does not come back to playing soccer on rails. Do not get me wrong, i still do not use manual shooting and keep the pass into the running playing as well on automatic, but often use the manual pass for that as well.

I must say, manual passing makes me want to whip a long ball, like every match. When I played with assisted I only used it for crosses but now it's part of my build-up. Also I think it makes slow Barça like build-ups more fun!
