Man congrats. You’re making me want a manual now more than ever
@MTE-724 жыл бұрын
Congrats on completing the build! I remember when looking around for my first (in my name) car, I ran into your "So you want to buy a Honda Prelude" video and immediately put the Prelude on my look-out-for list. Months later, this April, I am now the proud owner of a red 91 Prelude 2.0Si thanks in part to your video that introduced me to the 3rd Gen! And like you. I'm also learning stick as I'm driving it! It has a ton more miles (197k to be exact) and it has a sleuth of problems like the A/C not working, gas and temp gauges not working, an exhaust leak somewhere, etc etc but it has been giving me exponentially more smiles per gallon than any previous car I've driven! It isn't the fastest car out there but it's mine and it's awesome to just walk up and go "damn this is my car now" and it's thanks to you! Hope your journey with the Prelude continues to be this exciting!

Don't over think the shifting. Just drive the car and it will come easier. Also, don't worry about downshifting, just go into neutral and coast. Once you get things down so that it's second nature, then worry about rev matching. Proud of you dude, good job!

Practice holding car on driveway incline with clutch only...it'll help you on hills and when parallel parking on hills n such...clutch only...let it out slowly til it starts up driveway...at that point...pressing clutch in n out slightly, you'll find a point where the clutch engages enough to hold the car but not fully engage forward motion...peace

I have waited so badly for this video dude. This is looking so nice. I'm the last 2 years I have driven 5 different manual cars and the prelude clutch is one of the most aggressive clutch I noticed. If you want a quick start at a red light get first gear to like 2,5 -2,7K RPM them shift into second.and pull it to 4 -4.5K RPM You could.install an oil pressure gage and an oil temperature gage cause when the car is could never rev over 3K If you motor time for.interior maybe delete rear seats and get 4 point belts Greetings from Germany:)
@ConnorLee4 жыл бұрын
Ahhhh yes someone feels me on the belts! I wanna put some buckets in and 4 pt belts and delete the rear seat! You read my mind! Not sure what seats will fit yet or if Ill have to install a cage of some sort to get the belts in there, but we will see!
@robinmeermeyer34254 жыл бұрын
@@ConnorLee you could use a room point bar and use it for the belts.Maybe just some.classic black recaro seats and don't forget the strut brace in the front and back bro. I got those from wichers and they do a great job + easy to install

I see you used the same option I've seen on the prelude3g forum about bypassing the automatic TCU and wiring in the reverse light signal. Just to confirm, you did nothing to the interlock on the steering column? I saw that in "their" video and there was no real explanation on why other than "murphy's law". I got my pedals installed last night and my word, I was so close to deleting cruise control because I couldn't hook up the cable, but I got it done. I'm about to go out and install my shifter and cables. Watching you drive it is awesome and it motivates me to get my build done. I post this comment hopefully to help someone in the future. The forums have terrible search features. Your series has been a blessing.

Want to know a little secret to rev matching? Just blip the throttle 1000 rpms higher than your rpm gauge is reading and you slide right into the gear. So if you are in 4th and the rpms are at 2000 blip the gas pedal to make the rpms go to 3000 then down shift to 3rd gear and let out on the clutch.

@@ConnorLee I see! What would you guess how long it tooked? Days? Because i would definately hire someone to do it. Im not experienced in mechanics. But hey! Me and my friend have a beautifull imaculate white Si with 4 wheel stearing. Minor things have to be done like a slight window tint, refilling the gearbox oil and then the car is basicaly done. I will do a showcase video of it. Hopefully it can be shoot this summer. Tell me if you curious about how the car looks and i will give you a short little clip to tease you! :) I can tell you, that the car optics we strived for, was as a clean original/stock look, but absolutely sporty and awesome looking. The car gets so much attention, that people literaly put their arm out of the window showing thumbs up and come to you and start praising the car. Its insane.
