in sanity we will check after bug fixed or code change its base function is working or not ,and also because of that bug fix or code change other module will not work correctly. But in retest we only check that bug fix part alone whether its working fine or not after bug fix .

Sanity is to check the rationality of the application or a new functionality, but retesting is testing to check only the failed test cases are getting passed or not which means the bug has been fixed or not.

Pls rewatch the video. Unit testing is the process to test if the code is bug free. Just because the code is bug free doesn't mean the entire software is bug free and working as expected. For that we need a testing team.

while adding new function we can do sanity. also we can do regression coz there may be defects created in other modules because of new function. But retesting only done where bug fixed.

You have to look for the job description that you are applying for. As a fresher, u need to know selenium, testng, if possible cucumber, github. You should be good if you knew this.

To everyone who is having the same confusion as I do......Retesting and sanity testing sound similar..... Order of testing whenever a new build is released is 1.Smoke 2.Retesting 3.Sanity 4.Regression. Retesting is done to check whether that particular bug has resolved. Sanity is to verify other associated functionalities that got affected becuase of that particular bug has resolved. Hope this helps. Correct me if im wrong.
