Manually Entering Decoders Into CabControl

While ESU Decoders have RailCom Plus and will self-recognize in the ESU CabControl system we realize that not all decoders have this great feature. For those decoders, you will need to manually enter them into the CabControl system. This is a simple process and once complete you can work with them just like our great ESU LokSound and LoKPilot decoders giving them a name and using Icons for the function buttons.

Just a reminder. The address entered in “create locomotive” or “edit locomotive” must be the address already written into the decoder. So if you are adding a new loco out of the box you will need to push the 3 bars at the top left of the screen and choose “DCC address” to write the locomotive address you will be using. (The nice thing about “DCC address” is that you can enter a 4 digit address directly without having to adjust CVs.)

Hi, can users add their own pictures by any means or process?

I have tried to create with several different units but must always use DCC address #3 what am I doing wrong !!!

Hello, I am searching the internet hi and low about the same problem you had. I just received this system less that a month ago and I have the exact same problem. Did you ever find out how to fix it? Your call out is the closest thing I have found. I don't even know if you will get this reply. I'd be so grateful for any help with this. Thank you Steve.

Plug your track into the program track jack on the back of the cab control and re set the address of the loco. You cant do it unless you're on the program track. ESU also made a video on how to do this.
