This is a quick demo to turn the IR lights on and off. Please let me know if there is an easier or better way to do this.
1. Log into the camera's web user interface.
2. Go to Configuration - System Service
3. Use the Enable IR Light checkbox
4. Click Save

you had the right screen at first....just untick 'turn off IR light' BUT THEN DONT FORGET TO CLICK 'SAVE' BELOW ...otherwise it wont remember the setting...it should then turn off.....this is the best way to do it actually as it shouldnt alter its night time sensitivity and if you use a seperate IR emitter placed preferably behind the camera you wont get any splodges showing in the rain Dont forget if you alter the brightness too high for night vision it will be totally blown out in the day.

i have some hilook ipc-t250h cameras, connected to a HI look DVR... ive tried entering the cameras IP as shown in the dvr but im assuming the internal network of the DVR isnt available... so is this possible without me having to disconnect the camera and plug into into my general switch to connect to it directly?

I think you can only access the NVR from your network and no the individual cameras. The NVR's internal network is protected from your home network. The NVR is acting as a firewall. The NVR might however have an open port or streaming address that you can access the cameras.

Thanks for the update. the problem is, when you switched it to day mode, was it still in night vision mode? Probably not huh? And I wonder if you took it off auto if it would have allowed you to turn the IR lights off on the other screen. It's funny that didn't work. I wish you would have had some LED lights to test it out. I sent the company an Email, hopefully they will get back to me about it. I will let you know if I hear from them. Thanks for trying. Jim

+Joe Blow NP. I'm not sure of there is a night vision mode. The shutter speed changes but the thing that makes these cameras awesome at night is the IR lights. I would certainly like to learn more about this too. Pls let me know when you hear back. Thanks!

+DIY and SAVE He is showing the night vision part of the menu above with the auto on and off switch menu. I am hoping it is the reason he cannot switch the IR lights off on the other screen in the demo. This is a special video he is doing for me from another video he did a year ago on the same camera. I want to get this camera because I live in an apt and I need to aim the camera through a Window from inside the apt to keep an eye on my vehicle. The problem is the onboard IR lights reflect in the glass so I need to be able to turn them off and use a seperate $10 set of lights that I have placed a few feet below the camera that won't reflect into the lens. It worked good for the Dropcam I had but it got hot and burned up ( Those metal casings). He is really helping me with my decision here. The $10 IR lights from Amazon really help with lighting up areas for these IR cameras and can extend there range. They only come on at night, are low voltage and are quite small.

+Joe Blow If it turns out you can get these lights to turn off and on for my particular situation, I am going to try the newer V5.2.5 version of the 2CD2132-IS and see what the upgrade has done for the camera, unless you have one already.

+newfiebort You showed in the setting where the picture went dark when you switched the 'Day and Night " switch to day. If you have time could you try switching it to night and see if you can then go back and switch the IR lights on and off thern. Thanks

This option might not be available from the NVR. You will need to log into the camera directly using its user interface. Let me know if you need help on that.

To access your camera's web user interface when you have an NVR, connect a PC to the NVR using one of the camera ports on the NVR. Get the IP address of the camera you want to access from the screen in the NVR where you would configure/setup the cameras. Enter that address into your computer's browser and log into the camera using the credentials you assigned each camera on your NVR. Now you can use this video to navigate to this setting. Hope this works.

It depends on your camera setup. Is it connected directly to an NVR or is it on your network? You'll need to find the camera's IP address and access it through the Internet Explorer. To help find the IP address, you can use a tool like SADP.

depending on camera you have, you can go into the camera setting and change various settings. for example I have all my cameras set to colour in the night. brill.
