Bought whole system. Disappointed as the wear time is same or less than regular polish. Removal is great though with no damage. Some of the colors very streaky for non-pro like me to apply. Wish I could return all. Live and learn.

Thank you so much for your feedback! I guess the benefit of this over polish is the quick dry but I do agree, this is not as easy as they make it sound to be. Also the product has to be applied thin and even and you have to do it quickly because the product sets up.. Not an easy task for non pro.

I am a qualified tech and I find this stuff hard to apply on myself. I would argue it’s harder to apply than any other polish I’ve tried, and on my nails it doesn’t last any longer than regular nail polish.

That’s interesting. Regular nail polish chips within 24 hours on me every single time. I get about 7 days with this stuff. Maybe some tiny little micro chips but nothing others would notice. I don’t get 10 though. I actually really like that it’s more thin like a regular polish vs some of the gels I’ve tried get so gloopy and thick.

loved it and already bought and received the set. didnt buy the lamp though, which seems to be a mistake since I noticed it does not cure as well with my regular lamp. Bought the milky white and some nude/rosé tones. The milky white is very streaky. Do not recommend. Will have to test further. Thanks for your work! Almost bought all the products you suggest on your channel and have been so happy with them. My husband loves the pedicures too now :) I have invested so much money in dermatologists looking for the best creams for feet and hands, but your recommendations beat them by far :)

I bought their kit directly after I watched your first review on it :) loving it!! I am a mom of three small kids and washing my hands extremely many times per day, especially when they 💩 at the same time 😂the nail polish lasted on my hands 9 days and then just one got a small crack:) impressed!! :) One thing I thought about is that the skin around my nails was very dry after removing the polish and washing my hands. And one question:) I don’t have a 90% alcohol ( because in Sweden you need to have a prescription to buy it🙈) so I cleaned my nails with 70% alcohol. Is there anything else that can clean nails as good as 90% alcohol?:) And!! I will click on all of you Amazon links now!!! 🤣thank you so much for your content!!!! LOVE IT 🥰

Great video! I just used my Green Flash for the first time. I liked how it went on. I used Dark Pansy. I wasn't as neat with my right hand as left-handed, so I cleaned up around the edge closely with an acetone-based remover. When I get a gel polish manicure at the salon, they always wipe my nails with something. What is that, and should I do this step with this product

Should you use sunscreen or wear fingerless gloves when you cure the polish to protect your skin from the UV rays?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife 2 жыл бұрын
If you are wearing gloves when outside even on a cloudy day, summer and winter, in the car and sitting near a window then sure, wear them when you are curing your nails. The UV lamp produces UVA in the amount that equals the amount of exposure as you would receive driving 10 min in a car daily. UVA with wavelength 365 and 395 penetrates glass and it's present outside all day (not only midday like UVB), winter and summer.

Good question, I was interested in this matter too and did some research about this. As it often happens, I found clashing opinions about this. There are some which claim LED lamps are dangerous and it's better to use an SPF protection on your hands when using it, some others claiming there are no risks and the amount of rays reaching the hand is smallish and not harmful. Honestly I don't know what to think 😁 but to be on the safe side, I decided to only apply "Green Flash" quite seldom AND with SPF, and apply conventional "Green" polish (always by Manucurist) or other conventional polishes more often. 🙂😓

Did send them a request on the vegan issue and this was their answer: "Hello , Our Green Flash range is Vegan, certified by the Vegan Society. The only exception is our base coat which contains Shellac, a resin naturally secreted by mealy bugs. This resin is tree trunks and added to our formula, which gives our base coat its sticky texture, allowing adhesion of the color. However, this resin, unlike cochineal red, does not require any animal crush. We are constantly looking for an alternative to this product because animal cause is particularly close to our hearts, but to date, no solution has been found. Have a beautiful day 🌞, The TeaM Manicurist"

It's pretty good system if you use it for the right reasons. Not a fan of the marketing behind this product. They claimed that it was vegan meanwhile the base coat had shellac in it. Not the brand but the actual shellac made by the bugs. Why would they advertise it as vegan? They changed the formula of the base coat since the recording though. PS. 99,9% of all nail products (polishes, gels etc) are vegan.

Hi, besides the base coat not being vegan, are the ingredients considered to be toxic/ a health hazard? I’m trying to find clean products and wondering if this product is considered non toxic.
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Quoting chemist here: Nontoxic means “will not harm.” The word used alone is misleading because toxicity is dose-dependent. Even water, which is essential for life, can be toxic; we can drown and die if we have too much of it. Nail polishes are toxic when ingested but may be nontoxic when used correctly, in their intended application." These non toxic claims are like gluten free labels on items that never had gluten (like potatoes for example). Another example. Is alcohol toxic? Well, it depends. If you drink 2 bottles you might get alcohol poisoning. But if you take the same alcohol and wipe your nail with it, you are not going to get poisoned. Speaking of toxins. People inject Botox, which is a toxin, in small amount injected into the muscle is safe. It's not toxic to the body. So non of the polishes are toxic when used as directed. People also confuse toxicity with allergies. The product can be labelled non toxic but be highly allergenic. "Clean" is another word that is overused and doesn't mean anything There is no definition of "clean". Here is a dermatologist's take on it (MUST SEE): kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWjWdKJreJesfc0 But to answer your question. Majority of issues (allergic reactions) with gel polishes is due to improper cure. Companies don't teach how to use these products properly and how to cure them properly. Very irresponsible. I don´t like to recommend UV cured products to DIYers because these products are highly allergenic if not used correctly. Here is my video about it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZC3n6ecqsabqa8

"Shit" 🤣 Hi Anna, yet another great vid. When you did the first gel nail, I actually jumped up a bit, I was so shocked. For a second, I thought there was a bit of trickery in the editing process, lol I have a question for you, Miss Anna. Why do polishes (any brand) need a second coat of color? I think it's because the companies make more money by us having to do two-three coats. Why can't they be one coat? I hope y'all are staying cool. It's going to be 105+ here today. LOVE it. - Hi MSL, I hope you're living your best life today. - Hugs Oh! I forgot. I have a few colors that loose their shine, especially DD, but if the polish is still in good condition, I just put another top coat on to refresh them. - more hugs💅

@TheSalonLife 2 жыл бұрын
Hello :)))) Polishes are coatings that are best applied in thin coats. They shrink less and dry better that way. First coat rarely covers perfectly. Even if it does the second coat adds depth to the color and smoothness to the surface. Just like painting walls you usually do 2 coats. You can apply second coat of top coat. With DD it’s recommended to wipe the nails with prep and then add base coat, let it dry and then top coat. Personally I have never done that. I would just re-polish the nails. I had DD loose shine on my toes (beach/sand) but the pedicure was 2 weeks old and I just redid my toes. 105F? 🤯 That’s hot! It’s approaching 90’s here and it feels super hot. It’s also pretty humid that’s why. It feels hotter here than in Canada (summers there are pretty hot and humid) because air conditioning is used here but quite little as it’s expensive. I mean they don’t crank it low. We have it set to 25C (78F) in our studio. In Canada the grocery stores were like fridges. Also we walk here everywhere and the terrain is quite hilly. So 25 min to work uphill/downhill and uffffff. You can’t do this midday. But hey! I will take Spanish summer over Canadian winter any day!

Hey, Your video was a major factor in my decision to buy manicurist paris products. To find out whether the products are really vegan, I decided to contact you via WhatsApp and received the following reply: Hey Elisabeth, Rest assured, our products are vegan and they do not contain Shellac, also you can find all the ingredients listed under each product. So I think maybe they just call it Gellack/ Shellack but it is a vegan alternative. In Germany, we have another Supplier of vegan gel manicure named ‘Gitti’. It is also a kind of Shellac but a 100% vegan. But maybe you received a response in the meantime. Thanks a lot for your video❤

Hi Lisa, most of gel polishes on the market are vegan. In fact I don't know any that are not (except for Manucurist that in fact had animal based shellac in their base coat). All the most allergenic ingredients in gel polishes are vegan, so vegan does not mean safer or hypoallergenic.

Hi, thank you very much for a great video. Explanation and advices are very good! I wanted to ask you the following... I am used to go to the salon for a Bio Sculpture EVO2 gel. Bio Sculpture claims that their product does not contain harmful ingredients and I was also explained by a nail technician that their product is great because it lets a nail breathe, ie. the product doesn't seal the nail. Well, I am not a pro and that is why I can't compare Manucurist and Bio Sculpture product composition, but I wanted to ask you. What do you think of these two in comparison? Do you think that I was told bullshit about the breathing nails? And is products' composition somehow same and there is really not so much difference between these two when it comes to harm to my nails? Thank you very much!
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
The most important thing is a proper use of these products. Companies instead of really teaching the importance of proper use and how to recognise overexposure are playing the fear mongering game of which "bad" ingredients they don't contain coming up with some ridiculous lists of things that gel polishes never contained in the first place. I've seen a company advertising that their gel polish is mercury free and lead free. Ridiculous!! Please see this post for more info: instagram.com/p/CjX0IsSqgcL/? And yes, nails don't breathe. Any coatings (even nail polish) do increase moisture level in the nails and that can be problematic for some people. Gel polish would increase moisture level probably more than regular polish but I haven't seen any studies showing that BS increases it less than other brands. So it's hearsay.

How is that possible that you can spent like 100 euro for a whole "natural" gel polish kit (Manucurist) or pay 55 euro for only one nail so called natural treatment (Bio Sculpture)? There must be some difference, or is that just marketing? Hmmmm. So my last question- when it comes to ingredients in Manucurist kit, do you think it is less harm than Bio Sculpture? Generally not a fan of DIY gel products. They are all highly allergenic and they should be used with a great caution. Proper training should be required BEFORE selling any of these products. I don't see any information about the importance of training. Everyone who wrote to me with terrible allergic reactions (overexposure) didn't know about allergic reactions and how they happen. These reactions are life long and they can affect dental treatments and other medical procedures in the future. This is very serious.

PS. I have to say that they do have good information about the allergic reactions but it's hidden in "Additional resources" section that no-one sees. This should be read and understood before buying the product and required by the brand to go through some kind of class explaining all this. I had someone who developed allergic reaction to their products (allegedly) and I asked her if she saw this info and she said she didn't. Since this product doesn’t last as long as typical gel products, is it safe to use weekly? Is there a risk of too much exposure to UV light if using a lamp once a week?
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife Жыл бұрын
Hi Adriana, UV exposure is the least thing I'm worried about. These click-baity articles and videos talking about UV harms don't talk about what really is the problem. The problem is an epidemic of allergic reactions due to overexposure to these products. This a serious, serious issue no-one really talks about. I get pictures daily from people becoming severely sensitised to these products due to improper and careless formulations of these products and lack of knowledge on how these reactions happen and therefore they have no idea how to avoid them. When it comes to UV, you get more UVA exposure from the sun when you drive in your car than UV manicure. When they say that exposure adds up yes, just like it does when you drive in your car and you sit near a window (UVA penetrates glass) With proper application and proper nail care (and healthy nails) I think this should last about 2 weeks.Even though I would take it off after about 12 days, go couple days without, do warm oil treatment, maybe a hardener if you need one and re-apply at 2 weeks.

@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife 8 ай бұрын
Non of the gels are toxic when used as directed. I’m not a fan of fear marketing. Toxicity is dose dependent. So the question is at which dose something is toxic. Not is it toxic or not. Like vitamine D3. Can reach toxic levels if you take wayyyyy too much but in normal amounts is very good for the body. Same with alcohol. Wiping your nails with alcohol won’t damage your liver but drinking excessively can. So it’s not a question of if alcohol is toxic or not but what amount of alcohol is toxic. But these companies use these scary words to sell their products because fear sells.
@TheSalonLife
@TheSalonLife 8 ай бұрын
Ps. Polish used on the nails once a week is not toxic to the body. Maybe drinking it can be. Large amounts. I don’t know. I’m serious. The poison is in the dose. Like I mention, Vit D3, Tylenol, alcohol and so many other things can be toxic when taken in excessive amounts. How about Botox? Neurotoxin. Injected in small amounts is safe. Rubbed on your skin won’t do anything. Applied on the nail? 100% won’t do anything. See what I mean?

HEMA is not the only allergen. Instead of publishing some legit information showing that their ingredients are less likely to cause allergic reactions they would rather demonize an ingredient and go with “all natural, plant based” marketing (like you can’t be allergic to plants really). Silly and cringe worthy. Product is nice and interesting but the marketing- cringy

I really appreciate your insight as I stopped using gel to avoid any permanent allergy but was hoping this would be a great option

Save your money for a normal nail polish. This product is very hard to apply, as it dries really fast, leaving streaks or bumps behind. In addition, no matter how thin the layers, it never seems to set/cure and it peels off or chips after HOURS, not even 1 day lasting. You are better off with a regular nail polish, like OPI or Essie from the drugstore. With proper application they can last for days...way longer than manucurist green flash. very disappointed.

Thank you for your feedback and sharing your experience! As you can see the product lasted on me and on the people I tested it on as advertised, 10 days. I think the benefit of this product is quick dry, 1 minute. After it’s cured people can use their hands unlike regular polish that takes at least 20 minutes to dry. Which lamp have you used to cure this product. I think they have 2.
