I think this is one of the very finest recorded performances of guitar repertoire of all time. I've never heard anything better. It is a perfect match of composer, composition, performer, and instrument.

This is a studio recording when Barrueco was young; exceptionally played.

Maestro Manuel Barrueco is one of the most outstanding musicians and guitarists of our time. This is a phenomenal musical performance.

They’re both marvellous interpretations for sure. Barrueco is more lyrical whereas Dylla brings out the darker contours of the music. I could listen to either.

These three pieces were performed with real power by Narciso Yepes...

Barrueco is the greatest alive, a TRUE master. By the way, listen to Marco Socias' version too, a great spanish that plays this work in a really "spanish" way.

@SB Tofu Don't worry. You will like it and know what's good when you grow up

@SB Tofu Ok, so you want a mature answer. I never expect nothing from this kind of "trying-to-change someones opinion-thing", but anyway... This recording is nothing compared with Yepes. Both in terms of interpretation itself and recording techniques and edition. This sounds empty, without power in terms of sound. You dont really notice the bass sound nor the different sounds and the counterpoint with clarity either. Something Yepes does with real power and proyection. Don't you really notice this one quality in the Yepes recording? seriously.. did you even listen the Yepes version? or you are maybe affected by prejudices? This only to mention one of his qualities: Yepes version is totally orchestral. Compared to his recording this sounds like someone playing a wood-stick with some strings attached to it: poor, empty, without proyection and power. I know you don't mind this answer; just a reafirmation of your opinion. So answer if you want. I won't go into this waste of time of an argument.

What a great guitarist he is. I may try these pieces. I won't sound like this, but I enjoy Rodrigo's music.
