@@thechicodh Ah thats a pity. No FEM theory as well? I recommend Optistruct if you want to get more into topology optimization or shape optimization cause that is where it shines. Otherwise for more general purpose stuff, check out Abaqus, Ansys as well.

@ManuelRamsaier3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, this should be the same direction like in the system - so this means like in your browser. I am not aware, that it can be changed in the software Hyperworks only. If you want to change it in the system, you can look here: www.windowscentral.com/how-reverse-scrolling-direction-windows-10 All the best :)

Hi. Thanks for the video. I am working for LS Dyna solver on HM 2020. I have a question regarding material property assignment. What is the use of property? Can I not directly give Material to the component? I am asking this question because, in HM 2020, property has no option called 'Material'. Therefore, I assigned the material without creating a property directly. Would there be any disadvantage in this approach?
@ManuelRamsaier2 жыл бұрын
Properties are used to describe the element type for example the element thickness - you don't set this in the material. For LS Dyna I cannot tell exactly how it is done as I never had the chance but there is no harm in assigning material directly to the components. One example I can think of where you don't need a specific property assigned to a component is with 1D Properties which are often directly assigned to the elements. Hope this helps.

How can I check the nodal displacement of a specific node in a specific direction?
@ManuelRamsaier3 жыл бұрын
Hi :) you can create a system in hypermesh (so thats a user defined coordinate system), then assign the node to it - and then the displacement is given in that coordinate system. Another, maybe easier way of doing this: get the x,y,z values - so you have a vector of displacment and then project it onto your vector of interest. Quick video, if your unsure how to do that mathematically: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKKzmnd_eLWeoJo All the best :)

Do you have an ordered list of HM tutorial for beginners that I should watch?
@ManuelRamsaier3 жыл бұрын
Maybe in the future - the problem here is how broad the topic of HM is. Basically you can do almost everything regarding field problems with it. So linear static elastic analysis (e.g. cantilever) up to explicit plastic analysis (e.g. crash), even thermodynamic or fluid simulations - so there would not be one list but rather one list per "field".

Hello, can I ask an off topic question? to run Hypermesh correctly it's necessary to be always connected to Ethernet??
@ManuelRamsaier3 жыл бұрын
Hey Stefania, depends on your licese. If you have a network license and dont borrow it, then yes. Hyperworks product will constantly look for the license to be available every few minutes. If you have a local license (specified as a file in the security folder) it doesn't matter. If you have further questions don't hesitate to ask or send me your specific case to ramsaier@rwu.de All the best :)
@stefaniamagnettigisolo57753 жыл бұрын
@@ManuelRamsaier thank you very much! In fact i have put the license file in the secuity folder of Altair 2021 in Program files, but it seems it does not work without Ethernet... do you know if there is a way to set the license as "local"?
@ManuelRamsaier3 жыл бұрын
@@stefaniamagnettigisolo5775 Yeah, so its a local license (the license is contained in that file). If it were remote you would specify a path to your license server. The thing is, that local licenses are bound to your mac adress. As you were requesting the license you specified a mac adress. This Mac adress I guess is the one of you ethernet controller. So if you deactivate the network controller it will not work but if it is just not connected, there should be no problems. Best guess is: Check if you specified the correct mac adress and if this mac adress is present in your ipconfig - all. Hope this helps. If thats all unsuccessful, please contact the altair support team directly and they sure will figure a way for you :)

@@stefaniamagnettigisolo5775 Hi there - sure. I am not much simulation thermal stuff anymore but as fas as I remember it was a SPCADD as the thermal loads are done as a constraint and to add it together you would want to choose the SPCADD card.
