But its so interesting to me to watch these guys in these underdeveloped countries produce these things on small, case by case basis and do it in less than ideal circumstances. I love watching these true craftsmen. I have absolutely all the respect in the world for them. But, I am still amazed how any of them still have their toes and fingers, especially their toes. They are wearing sandals for crying out loud, working with molten iron and steel. I personally learned my lesson wearing flip-flop sandals while just using an angle grinder with a flap disc. I was grinding some rust and paint off one of my projects when the flap disc caught. Ripping the angle grinder out of my hand, landing onto the top of my left foot. It literally just glanced off of the top of my foot. But it still left a 4cm long x 1cm wide x 1cm deep cut/gash requiring 10 plus stitches and leaving a pretty gnarly scar. I just wanna give these guys work boots.

Ага, без ничего, без технологий, без контроля техпроцесса икачества. Одно дело отковать обод для телеги, а совсем другое сделать тормозной диск, который должен удержать и остановить автопоезд весом в 40-60 тонн. Качество используемого оборудования это вообще отдельная тема, станок ушатаный.

I do exactly this! I work for a company called Meritor (now Cummins-Meritor) where we re-manufacture brakes, drums, drive trains and other manufactured parts. You don't know how appreciative of the process I am now after watching this. We still work hard; it's a laborous job, but compared to this, we have it easy in America.

На тракторок тихоходный сойдёт. Котляры. Переплавляли раньше старые жаровни и чаны на новые. Теперь вот и за это взялись. Качество на глазок по всем параметрам и станок до 0.1 мм точности. Из новшества - добавили турбину с электромотором и мазут вместо углей на форсунке по принципу аля паяльная лампа. Чугуний однако ! Эххх

В том то и дело что это ручной труд с высокой стоимостью и малой производительностью, и насколько я вижу, это очень распространено в Индии в разных отраслях. Такое понятно если делаешь какую то кастомную штуку, но это же обычная вещь, которая легко и задешево делается механизированной линией. Вопрос один - почему нет развития индустрии, возможно потому что ручной труд очень дешев.
