Although in this case the casting is acceptable to the customer, the quality of it could be vastly improved if the mould was kept clean as it was built up. The amount of loose sand allowed to just remain in the mould was shocking, and would add to the amount of holes seen in the machined casting. Apart from that it was a decent job under the conditions.

how does the sand harden

It is special type of sand and then wax are mixed into it and after shape it they made small holes in it and pass CO2 gas inside it. Then it get hard like a rock
