Rauschenberg is without a doubt one of the greatest artists of the past 100 years. When I was 18 I had the privilege to view a retrospective of his work in Houston. Then to my surprise he was there and gave a 30 minute talk about his work.

INCREDIBLE PERSON. I'm devastated by Rauschenberg (in the best way possible). I hang on his every word. He is literally ZEN.

Thank you for posting. Robert Rauschenberg is becoming a stealth presence in my art; disconcerting, but I'm adapting. Again. many thanks for this posting.

To me his general demeanor seems to reflect a 1950's sensibility: an open sentimentality, a kind of innocence and purity and optimism that were complicated and lost following the Vietnam War years.

I think Mr. Rose is used to interviewing subjects with more narcissism; ask a small, vague question and they expound. Rauschenberg doesnt seem that kind of person.

Yes im with you. he doesnt give him time to think about his answers. And when he say somehting important he changes the topic. But this is television. There is a time limit. such a bullshit. there shouldnt be a time limit with important interviews.

Charlie Rose had to step down from his position because he repeatedly sexually harassed women under his employment at CBS. He's definitely not a "class quality of journalist".
