Phantom, Cleetus was having issues with his Crank Angle Sensor as well. Turns out the sensor was picking up on the keyway on the Crank as well causing the exact same issues you are having. Just a thought. Best video yet, loved it.

This is where the fun stuff is at! Personally I prefer this style street racing with assembly line manufactured cars instead of those specific built npk chassis with mailed-in back half cats. Great video though. You guys have awesome daily drivers.

That’s what this channel needed!!!! Real shit , guys are cool as F , but real street racing is the reason street outlaws took off . I know it was never real but it wasn’t quite so organized like it became so that gave it the feeling of being real street. Man van should’ve won but the other guy probably needed it more in many ways Phantom is always so cool and I honestly thought you would’ve took Dave , you knew it could’ve shut off from the get go so no sense in getting upset , the truck is fast and CLEAN as F . Overall badass job and if nothing else at least y’all are out there in the streets like millions of us would love to be! F tha haters and do what you do

Hey phantom, have you tried turning the crank sensor 90 degrees to see what happens? Motion race works had a great tech tip video on crank sensors about a year ago on how they’re made, it’s a tiny wire that’s picking up that signal and if it’s running parallel to the trigger it doesn’t read well, turning it 90 degrees makes the wire run purpendicular to the trigger. Also, I’ve seen other people have problems if they have any kind of shielding around the crank sensor harness, besides the shielding on the 3 wire harness, ya know like that heat tape stuff, or shielded insulation.

Cleetus has been having a similar problem with the Ruby Vette. It looks like they traced the problem to the crank trigger sensor being so close to the crank it is picking it up as the counter weight swings past it. They plan on putting a front mounted trigger wheel/sensor on the car to fix it.

Could the weight on the balancer be interfering with the crank trigger? I’ve had this happen before. Mine was doing the same thing as yours and was very erratic.

Cleetus had the same issues with ruby, they replaced sensor, wiring, and it still did it. They think the crank sensor is reading off the crank weight. Idk something to check.

Hey, Ruby(Cleetus) just had a similar problem to Shop Truck and it seems to be the sensor picking up the crank throw or something, interrupting the crank signal. May be worth looking into?
