Manx mountain Marathon DNF

Well I DNF’ed the Manx Mountain Marathon I got 19km with 1400m of elevation but then just had a funny turn going up the hill from Injebreck and decided I wasn’t going to make the finish, I found it tough on some of the terrain and the route navigation, I didn’t get lost but could have had problems if no one else was around, not already knowing the route, wading through thick heather, bogs ect, I know it’s a fell race but I’m just not up to scratch for a 30 miler atm, anyway enough negativity, the Isle of Man is a nice place and I would go there again so I’m not writing off doing the Manx half mountain marathon next year, as I haven’t done the second half yet.
so there’s how I got on with it, if your thinking of doing a fell race like this you need plenty of training, in the mountains and even route reccie would be good idea if you can, what you didn’t see on the video was I missed the trig point on Snea fell as it was thick fog and I’d never been up there before, then had to track back to find it, I didn’t find the route description very good and the map was also not great as the writing was too small, so that’s something to think about
