Everybody back then used to kick it @ Venice Beach 7th Broadway (Arcade) Mann Chinese Theatre both PopLocking + BreakDancing Back in like 1975-1985 which started These Dance Groups in Every Hood, when I was like 13 going to Mount Vernon Junior High from 1983 to 1986 we came into Contact with these same Dance Group’s on the Westside samething😂 Campbell Lock Robinson who Danced on Soul Train, also went to Carver Junior High & the PopLocking Color’s in the 1970’s was Black & White, but if you Pressed these Dudes they would give up their Hood & Represent it to the Fullest 🤣 it’s like 1970’s our People was doing the Hustle or 1980’s it was the Electric Slide which was really the same Dance! 🤣 Do the Hustle or Barry White- My Everything was a 1970’s Club Bangers Hustle Songs! 1980’s Electronic Slide Cuts was Outstanding 12’ Version or Just a Touch of Love or Candy

1984.. I had my first pair of black and red pumas with the fat red laces, the todd1 sweat suits, or the wind breakers . Members only jackets, penny loafers, adidas, Sergio valente, la Tigre, fila suits, starter jackets, bomber jackets.. snatching uncle jam army posters off poles and putting them on the walls with jet beauties , etc. sitting on the fire hydrant on corners with the master blaster radios, Break dancing on card board. Graffiti. Swimming at the coliseum . Pop locking. Shooting marbles, riding bikes, bunny hopping , playing cops and robbers. Side line pop football from street light to street light.

Cripping was king of an outcast back in the early 80s. It wasn’t glamorized. Until the movie colors came out. And then it was tainted and went bad.
