A few videos ago, I noticed you answered a question about your fingernails. I hope you don’t mind my question being off topic and about your manicure. Ever since you’ve gone back to polished nails, it seems like there is something different than your prepandemic manicures. Like the polish is thicker or more domed. Are you using a different polish? It’s a small thing, but I look forward to seeing your manicure and which right hand ring you will be wearing. 😆

Amen to this. I’m consistently amazed not only by her techniques but also the brilliant sophistication of her designs. I love that I can instantly pick out her work whether it is from years ago or more recent. I have never once thought one of her cards was over done, like I find with my own. Even these stenciled cards--- even though they have many layered techniques, each technique is relatively simple and in the end becomes a harmonious part of the whole design.

When your anti static tool runs out refill with cornstarch. I use a cheap fluffy makeup brush and a bowl with lid dip the brush. I also have a powder foundation with the Kabuki brush from the dollar store cleaned out the powder filled with cornstarch. The anti static tools dry out my hands and some smell like baby powder which makes me sneeze

I was trying to get a retractible brush from Amazon because it was out of stock, however I couldn't find one that did what I wanted. When I received mine it was just amazing. You pump it and the medium just goes to the middle of the brush. There isn't any big release of powder and it has no scent. It really is a wonderful tool and very well thought out. I hope you will try it.
@rtd17913 жыл бұрын
@@jennifermcguireink Do you specifically like the clay powder better? I read that clay powder was better and cornstarch is “bad” because it is a thickener. I don’t understand why a thickener would be bad in terms of embossing.

"Dry embossed". I am not used to this phrase. Is it as apposed to heat embossing wherein I guess you could say it was a 'wet or moist' procedure. Always love your work and brilliant video's (?) - no extra speech or fumbling - just pure professionalism :-).

Really loved these background techniques! I have a question though...Inks. There are Pigment, Die & Oxide inks. As many know inks can be a major expense in crafting & I've held off buying in any large quantity. To add to the 3 types listed many videos feature different brands to boot. I wonder if there is a clarifying video on which ink should be used in which technique & why, along with the advantage to the different brands, if there is any. If you've already done a video on this, just point me in the right direction...TA 💖

Jennifer is taking a bit of time off so I'll do my best to help... Here is a video that she did that shows lots of information types of inks. www.jennifermcguireink.com/2021/02/my-favorite-crafty-things-2020-inks-tools-giveaway.html If you want a deep dive into oxides vs distress inks search KZbin for Tim Holtz distress oxides vs. distress inks and he goes into the comparison of those. when you stamp and die cut several greetings and use only one, how do you store the unused greetings? I use leftover cellophane envelopes from products that I've ordered, and put the extra die cut greetings down inside the storage envelope with the stamps and die. Seems to keep them flat and safe.
