The cloning humans from marine DNA is fun. But inviting people to live in your ocean city also sounds fun. I want a game that lets you be Andrew Ryan and build a diverse libertarian utopia away from the THE PARASITE Edit: also it would be a great twist if it turned out it was all a trap, and that the military guys who started the program were actually cultists who wanted to create an army of sea people to help Cthulu conquer the world.

I feel like you tried to expand too fast too quickly and tried to build the top of the tower before the foundation. Food and water always come first and you need power for both of those. Then housing to get new people in. Then clone workers to work in other sectors. It seems like after you got cloning up and running you didn't account for or put off things like increased power/oxygen/food use and it spiraled from there.

I miss how you used to have one or two long-form series and the rest of the week was dedicated to mini-series. With these one-offs I always end up wanting more. The livestreams are based on a vote, meaning that it's unlikely many of the games get time. I miss the little short dives.
@Biscotum Жыл бұрын
It's a consequence of doing this kind of thing full time. The channel money-makers are usually things like Fallout, Total War, big RPGs and such. Compare their viewcounts to the city-builders, the random one-offs, et cetera, and they just can't compete. And since the viewcount on Part 2 and 3 always drops off, a one-off can only realistically become a miniseries if it performs on the order of a Fallout video, otherwise the inevitable low viewcount will genuinely hurt the channel. For all his little quirks and such, Jon does have a long career in marketing and seems to know how this kind of thing works, for better or for worse. It's a shame, but blame KZbin, not Jon.

I think there should be a Dock in the tech tree which means you just need subs to transport people long distances for jobs. It does mean that you'll probably need local power and oxygen but it would cut down on excess powerlines and light towers just to reach an area.
@fuzzyfuzzyfungus Жыл бұрын
There was a mention of number of oxygen grids and number of power grids in the UI for oxygen and power(both were 1 in this case; but you'd not have a field for that unless it could be something else); so it appears that there is some mechanism for creating non-linked habitat areas.
