@@Soken50 I mean LA's road system was entirely planned around having enormously high traffic and 'urban islands' that are essentially inaccessible by foot that stick up out of the cityscape. It was designed that was in an effort to resist the urban decay we started to see in the 50's & 60's by essentially always having ways vehicles could get around the poor neighborhoods no matter how bad every single option was. @@josepholiveira2873 Well, the game has to place the new homes and businesses "randomly" but only on empty spaces... so, if you lay down a long straight road, leave 2 squares, and another road parallel, then anything that pops up between, is automatically connected. then you don't have a row of 3 houses nice and straight and then the one off by one square. If you wait till late game to try to do a grid, you're screwed by the random placement. If I get this game and play it, that's what I'm going to try, at least. make the initial roads as straight as possible, to prevent new spawns from preventing straight roads later.

I never did figure out why in gh0d's name you didn't build a roundabout for the bottom of the Red motorway going into the Red highrise... It would have let red and green interact without having to have a frustrating (to green) traffic light... That's probably why green was getting annoyed...

I realize that this would be a...marked...genre shift; but given the long history of urban planning where roads don't merely react to cities; but can be used to shape them, I'm a trifle disappointed that you can't use infrastructure to get rid of especially inconvenient neighborhoods; or maintain a success condition where some of the motorists are ridiculously neglected so long as enough of the others are really, really happy.
