Yes, motor oil is distinct from coolant, Jon. One lubricates moving parts, the other keeps the engine from overheating.

@@trogdor8764 Yeah it overheats and destroys itself. There's a number of horror stories on the internet about it. Those 15 min oil change places often forget to put new oil in after draining the old.

@@trogdor8764 to clarify, an engine ran without oil wouldn't overheat in the traditional sense, friction will heat and damage the bearings until the engine seizes up. Basically oil cools the bearings, coolant cools the combustion chamber.

BTW Jon I'm pretty sure that crash that sent everything flying, also damaged the cab, since 15:22 the doorframe no longer lines up with the door. That could be the cause of your smoking dashboard.

smoking dashboard reminds me of old dodge pickups leaking from the coolant lines to the heater core right at the firewall and the ass end of the block barbeques it and causes the engine to smoke like sob

Jon, the side of the vehicle that the steering wheel on is almost always the side that on the inside of the road because it gives you better distance perspective of passing objects.

Fallout New Vegas has functioning car mods, I tried one of them out and it worked, though it was janky when it came to loading parts of the world that already had cars in them. I grabbed those sunset sarsparilla crates, you know the ones you can pick up and move? I put them in the back of the starter truck and began a lucrative career picking up the free guns (and target practice) that Caesar sent me and selling them to the good people of freeside.

I was rewatching old live streams and one proposal for "favourite game cross-over" was My Summer Car and Fallout. I can only imagine the developer saw this and created the game in response.

Jon, there is a reverse in the game. It's unintuitive, I only figured it out because the tanks in Hell Let Loose are manual transmission and they run the same. Gear down past neutral and you'll be in reverse. Then drive like you're trying to go forward.

Yeah I'd say that's much more relatable than searching for lost family. No one ever has people they love go missing, but surviving gunshots and seeking revenge is much more grounded.

The fallout comparison is apt, because they seem to have lifted the meshes and textures from the 360 version of Fallout 3. All except the faces. Those are somehow worse than faces from the original FF VII on a PS classic.
