4K Walking Tour 🌲 Excursion to the Val Nera waterfall 🌲 Livigno, Italy

If you are on holiday in Livigno in the summer, you cannot miss the excursion to the Val Nera waterfall.
The walk starts in the Alpe Campaccio area. We can leave our car at the P8 car park which is located along the road that leads to Passo Forcola.
We then take a pedestrian cycle paved road on foot, which crosses meadows with grazing cows, and in about ten minutes we reach the Malga Alpe Vago. Here it is also possible to taste and buy the products, and in some cases visits are organized to learn about the production phases.
After passing the hut we take the path on the right that goes into the woods. After a first uphill stretch, the route becomes mostly flat with some not too demanding slopes.
It will seem to enter an enchanted and silent world, where the only noises you hear are those of the waters of the stream that are thrown with force against the rocks. We are completely enveloped by the smells of the forest, and at the end of the walk we will find ourselves in front of a corner full of wonder that appears like those secret places that are read in fairy tales.
The itinerary leading to the Val Nera waterfall is really simple and also suitable for children. In any case, it is not feasible with the stroller as it crosses the woods and fairly bumpy paths.
It is a circular route that on the outward journey runs alongside the river on the right side and passes through coniferous forests, and on the way back you can stroll through wide valleys and green meadows. The time needed to travel it is about 1 hour and 10 minutes for the outward journey and about 50 minutes for the return.
For children it will be fun to jump from stone to stone, cross small streams that reach the stream and cross the Tibetan bridge near the waterfalls. The climb then turns into an adventurous experience that makes you forget your efforts!
Throughout the journey we will be accompanied by the rapids of the stream, and when the sound of the water gets louder it will mean that we will be near the waterfall.
From above, to discover this wonder of nature, we must go down some wooden steps until we arrive in front of a splendid jump of the stream of about 10 meters.
To continue the circular route you have to cross a Tibetan bridge. Once on the other side we will find a small beach with large stones where you can stop for a packed lunch overlooking the waterfall.
For the return, you go up a steep staircase that leads to large meadows. At this point the path becomes flat and much more comfortable than the outward journey up to a descent that will take us back to the Malga Alpe Vago and then at the end of the excursion.

Ciao, dal parcheggio dove abbiamo lasciato la macchina noi ci abbiamo messo due ore andando con calma e gustandoci il paesaggio, se si va più veloci ci si mette anche solo un’ora volendo! Per tornare indietro invece è più breve e in discesa, ci vogliono circa 45 minuti! 👍🏻
