Nice stuff! Just copped this mic in black it’s on its way via delivery thought I’d watch a bit more on it before I receive the mic and stumbled onto your channel! Great review have a good one!

If you use OBS, there is a noise suppression filter you can add to your audio input that does a great job, but the best thing is to get a mic with great noise rejection. Dynamic mics are usually better, but more expensive condensor mics are even better. The cheaper mics are tough at noise rejection, but putting a big pop filter on your mic will help a lot as well. Are you looking for a usb mic or an xlr mic with an audio interface, and what is your budget

Hey Mike, Im looking to upgrade from an all in one Corsair HS80 headset with mic to a single mic setup to use with Discord, game chat, and occasionally online meetings through google meets and zoom. For some reason Im worried about the noise coming from my PC fans into my listeners ears. i know your test was the raw audio, but do you think these programs like discord/google meets/zoom have automatic background cancelling that remove fan noise/dont sacrifice the quality of the mic? Im a noob when it comes to audio and Im wondering if that's what Gain is for or the Limiter/Compressor helps that. Im in a pretty open, but carpeted basement and the only sound is really my PC fans

I also watched your video on the PD200x and wonder if that would be better for me with it being dynamic vs condenser. I do want to try doing some singing recording with my niece as well.

If you make adjustments to the RBG (IE, turn it off) will it continue to stay off if you no longer use the software? Basically can I use the software once to turn off the RGB, then uninstall it and never touch it again?

Thank you so much Mike, I watched both your Maono dm30 and fifine am8, but still don't know which one to choose. I want to use this mike in home apartment which has refrigerator noise. I am fall in love with Maono dm30 RGB that has RGB capsule. my use is going to be for youtube recording and mic will attach to arm. I can post process the sound and won't take it anywhere with me. that 10$ dollar difference doesn't matter at all. please help me. which one better suits my need. I am exhausted from searching.
@levelupwithmikenewman10 ай бұрын
for me personally, it's the AM8. Much better sound out of the box. Not a second thought if the additional cost is not an issue.

Can you do a Noise Supression and EQ Guide for this mic?
@PsychesGamingAddiction6 ай бұрын
How does the mic sounds with Noise Supression & etc ? Is it good enough for recording Lets Play videos without PC fan noise bleeding trough or the keyboard being heard?
@levelupwithmikenewman6 ай бұрын
The noise suppression is an effective, in fact, a little TOO effective. It will cut out fan noise, but also cut up you voice too when it kicks in. It is a sensitive mic to background noises and key strokes so it will need to be mounted to a mic stand or boom arm up and away from the keyboard.

@@levelupwithmikenewman thanks! Any other recommendations around the same price ? I have a fifine usb mic in my cart but cant remember which one
@levelupwithmikenewman6 ай бұрын
The Tonor TD310 has the best off axis rejection under $50. The fifine AM8 is great for noise rejection at this price point, the Shure SM57 with the a2ws pop filter is really good at under $100 for noise rejection

She is such a good kid, and loves creating videos! She gives me a hard time when some of her shorts have more views than my videos I post. A little family competition to stoke her creative fire 🔥. if you ever stumble across a purple dynamic mic, let me know! Ps…I’m rotting for the LCT 240 pro in your showdowns every time!! Lol. Absolutely love that mic!!

Brother. Firstly, you are so underrated. Amazing videos. Secondly ,Out of all the mics that you’ve reviewed, Can I go for Maono PD100U for solo Podcasting under $50?
@levelupwithmikenewman Жыл бұрын
Honestly, the best and cheapest USB mic for around / just under $50 is the FiFine am8. The Maono PD100u is a great mic with even better audio, but there is no built in headphone monitoring. A great mic for talking head videos where you don’t want to wear headphones or also plug directly into a gaming console for game chat. But if you want to be able to hear your audio in headphones with zero latency, I would go with the recently released FIFine AM8 👍🏻

@@levelupwithmikenewman but if you’d have to choose audio and noise cancellation over anything else? Which 1 you’d suggest?
@levelupwithmikenewman Жыл бұрын
@@NipanPatgiri the PD100u to me definitely sounds the best and was the best at noise rejection of those two are the only factors you are interested in.

Nice video, thanks for clear information. even I could follow I felt. Would it be a good choice for starting on a very, very low budget, going from nothing except build-in mic in the webcam? really I just ask to get an excuse to comment so I can tell you to pet the lovely cat from me! Looks so much like a cat I had and miss every day because he was the best cat ever to me, so really noticed red kitty relaxing there in the back haha
@levelupwithmikenewman Жыл бұрын
I adopted her two years ago because the family wanted a cat. she is very shy and skittish. But somehow along the way she became attached to me instead and follows me everywhere, and won’t let anybody touch her. 😂 So she has become part of my background now in my videos. Lol. As far as mics, if you are wanting an entry level budget USB mic, this is a good choice, I love the FiFine K688 USB mic the best as far as sound and price! if you want to eventually bump up to an xlr mic without having to buy another mic, the FIFIne AM8 is a great budget option.

Hey mike!! I have an important question. MY LIFE IS ON THE LINE MIKE. Maono DM30 / Maono PD200X Or should i just try to look for Maono PM421 Cardioid? =D pd200x is the cheapest, dm30 a lil more expensive and pm421 is the most. but it comes with everything so... idk. i do alot of calling on discord for coaching and i have a huge fan turned on TOWARD ME so everyone in the summer keeps talking about how annoying it is so.. idk which one to get
@levelupwithmikenewman Жыл бұрын
The DM30 is a condenser, and is very sensitive to the noises on my room. The Maono PD200x was way better. If you are anything like me with moving your hands/using your hands when you speak, the PM421 is a punching bag in front of you and you create abrupt banging noises in your audio with it being a tall, side address mic. The PD200x is sideways and that gives you more space to use your hands to express what you are trying to coach people on. To me, with a fan in the room and a lot of hand motion happing when you talk, the PD200x is the way to go. Plus you can use both xlr and usb depending on what your needs are. But you have more options with it. I just posted my review of the PD200x, and it performed wonderfully for me

I cannot say for certain, but if you have a usb C input, it think it should. Usually MacOS is the stuff that a lot of gear won’t work right on. PC is more audio/video gear friendly

Thier products are cheap, but none of their content creator mixers have a slot for the USB mic that they sell as a bundle. I had to remove from cart, skeptical.

The sound is great but I just personally wouldn't buy this mic not only cause of looks but because of where I live and lack of acoustic treatment
@levelupwithmikenewman Жыл бұрын
It definitely requires TLC for treating the room you’re in because of how good it is at picking up the little details of your voice, as well as any background noises too. 👍🏻
