Maono DM30 Microphone Review - Gaming Mic with Real Style

I am trying to get into streaming so I got myself the Maono DM30 which has been praised by plenty as a great entry level microphone. There were no problems setting it up but when it came to the Sound test it was Horrific. It was extremely Sensitive, it picked up ANY sound no matter how small. It almost seemed like the audio was being boosted by something but after lookin threw any and all settings, looking for drivers needing updates, I didnt find anything. one thing I did notice was that many have a "Enhancements" Tab in their Sound Settings and I did not, also missing a "Boost" Slider in the "Levels" tab. For now I managed to make the microphone usable by smacking a bunch of Filters on it with OBS but its no where near the level of Quality I have been hearing all over the Internet.

Odd. I’ve demonstrated this suitably in the review and shown how the software works. This is not a problem I Hsu get from. TBH, sounds like your rig is playing up on you. At least double check the gain/volume is down - sorry if that’s obvious.

Hii! So I've been looking for Microphones from Maono for Recording for singing. First choice was Au-Pm461TR but based on the number and price I thought Au-PM471TS was better then I asked the chat agent and they said 471 was better than 461 then they said DM30 was the best. But all the reviews and features of dm30 are for games. I saw another Maono 903, would that be better than DM30 for recording singing? I'm recording in a closet with some sound proofing too so I just want it to capture singing voice. Just for an intermediate singer, next year I'll try AT2020. I just really need a recording mic now :) Thank you and sorry for the essay. :)

This is a tricky one to answer. I haven’t heard their full range. The new PD400x has a little to much bottom end even with the high pass filter IMO. The DM30 or AU903 have a good frequency range if you can mix it post recording. The AT2020 is probably a great choice for singing vocals but I think that’s XLR only? So you might need a USB interface or mixing desk.

When you plug a headphone or headset into the microphone..are able to hear music, listen music, or hear your colleague while on a meeting or is it just for monitoring purposes??

Odd. I’d check with their support team. Sounds like you have a loop happening somewhere. Are there any other headset or gaming microphones active when you’re playing? In the same room?

This was a cheap one from AliExpress. Really budget but works well.

For sure. As a budget Podcast mic it would be fine. You might want to experiment a little on the gain to create the best distance to speak from but, yes, it would be fine.
