I see to many reviews where the mic being reviewed is only tested for a small portion of it, I prefer doing mine the other way around. i am now using this mic as part of a full time recording station that I just set up.

@@jasonchua4001 u can use voicemeeter to get a radio voice mic, this mic is insane (i took the Maono PM422), when i play games online people are like wtf...you got at very good mic !!!

I dont know with that, Many of the good ASMR mics are condenser mics and not USB mics because they are less prone to picking up background noise. For starting out if you had a relatively quiet working area a mic like this could still work.

@@RexxReviews Hi Rexx, Jack here! Nice review video. I was wondering if you could explain more about your comment regarding this mic not being a condenser? In the video's description it seems to indicate that it is indeed a condenser capsule. Regardless, I'm curious about your result that non-USB condensers pick up less background noise than USB mics. In my experience condensers are inherently more sensitive and off-axis noise rejection (less background noise pick-up) is more closely linked to the microphone's pick-up pattern rather than if it's USB. I didn't have this problem that I recall, I adjusted the volume up in windows settings and adjusted what i needed to with the mic knob.

Was the PM421 plugged to the back of a PC instead of an audio interface? How far were you when talking at the mic?

Its USB mic so yes it was plugged into the PC directly, I do not know of any audio interfaces that do anything with a USB mic. Also... you can see the mic and me both in the shot, its about a foot away.

Hi, I do gaming but I've also been beatboxing for about 20 years. I plan on doing a twitch channel with, (of course gaming,) but a heavy aspect of it will be my beatboxing. Do you, or anyone that sees this comment, think this would be a good mic for that? Also, are there any programs that allows you to edit your audio from the microphone while streaming? So I can optimize it to my liking? I already bought the mic, and when testing it, I could hear a lot of air sounds from my beatboxing, wondering what range I'm supposed to sit from the microphone. Any replies are appreciated.

These are USB mics, they go directly into the PC, i have never seen a preamp that will let you pass through a USB plug, only XLR.

It is USB only and plugs directly into the USB on your computer, no need for Phantom Power or XLR cables.

Yes, most USB mics do, mechanical keyboards are just to loud. XLR Condenser mics like the Audio-Technica AT2020 tend to do better at that because they are designed to be closer to your mouth and pick up less background noise and things like key clicks. Your When I use RTX Voice it does help cut it down quite a bit.

It entirely depends on what kind of switch the keyboard is using. Some switches are way louder than others, some switches are pretty quiet.

can I run a pm420 & pm421 together on the same laptop? I read that I can't run 2 of the same mics cause it recognizes it as the same. so I bought a Maono 420 and 421....am I able to run two of the "pm421" thru the same laptop? id rather use two 421's

2 usb mics no matter what tend to have issues , the unfortunate thing with these mics is windows used the generic usb mic driver for both of them. I did some research on this topic before and apparently there is some third-party software you can use that can route into USB mics and they use a channel each on a stereo channel and give you two mono signals. It looked far too complicated for what I was trying to use it for so I never messed with it at all.

@@McGrathFishing I have no idea, I think windows will use the same driver for both but they may just show up as mic 1 mic 2. I never tried in my situation with 2 mics. If you can find a software they will let you use 2 usb mics windows should label them as 1 and 2.

If you have a loud background then yes. Its a sensitive mic so its going to pick noise up if you have it.
