Caught just four Skimmers all day on the method at Makins the other day on lake 2...to say it fished hard was an understatement and no-one else was catching anywhere either. Some blokes on lake 1 and 5, they ended up going off for a walk and i think some of them changed peg. One guy resorted to walking round with just his rod and landing net just chucking it out on different pegs. If i got my pole out i probably would have managed a few more Skimmers and then just some small Roach and Perch. What a strange day...i've had much better days in January in temperatures not much more than freezing.

Ok thanks for explaining. I have just got a new pole for bigger carp it has 3 top kits in two I have pink and in one I have red. Is that right

my brother threw 10 pints of maggots and about 30 handfulls of micropellets in my peg along with the words 'trust me'.. aahhh big brothers ehh? was going to change pegs but hooked my personal best fought it for 5 minutes and then my hook line gave in after it jumped out of the water (a pre made rig that i bought) still got a 10lb carp only 1 but i think the fish wasnt hungry... i dont have a clue why? >.
