Thanks just purchased this and I am practicing with bots in training trying to hone my skills before getting obliterated on multiplayer, so all this information is like gold. This is definitely a point in VR history where we will look back and say that this was VR's Goldeneye moment (another youtuber quote) Goldeneye on the Nintendo 64 started to move the consoles into a multiplayer world that became COD and Battlefield. If u don't have a good building at the end game a fort can be very useful for some high ground & keeping your enemy more confused a simple rock is kind of predictable but forts give u multiple angles to be less predictable. An example a rock has about 3 general position's up left & right forts u can have multiple windows climb shoot left right up & any corner's sure isn't permeant as a rock but a few extra angles & extra that high ground I would always recommend it.

Such a great series. I've gone back and forth on movement options but now use hand oriented motion because it allows me to look around while moving in other directions, and if needed also strafe sideways staying squared to an enemy while doing so. Ymmv

FLYING SQUIRRELS FOR THE WIN!

One of the coolest build moments I had: The zone had closed up to just one door left in the big, center tower. I suspected someone was inside, because we had knocked out two players and couldn't find the third. I threw a zone grenade into the doorway and saw the damage numbers popping up through the wall. So, we knew they were inside and they had to come through the door at some point...unless, of course, they had enough bananas and sodas to retreat through the storm. Anyway, I thought to quickly wall them in, using builds. There was a tiny gap at the top and they eventually popped their head out and we started blasting. They backed down...then tried again and we finished the job. It was so cool and made me feel pretty inventive, in the heat of the moment. In another scenario, my team and I tried to build a sort of "last stand" fortress and, it was pretty elaborate, with gaps and levels, in case walls got knocked out and we needed to reposition...well, we got chewed up pretty bad. Next thing you know I was standing around peeling a banana, getting finished off. The lesson I gained was not to have so much faith in fortresses and that mobility is much greater. I think it might have been different if there had only been one team left to battle...seems like there were 3 and it was pretty harsh. It gave everyone something to focus on. Probably would have been better to also combine our fortress with more permanent surroundings...like as part of an existing building where some forms of cover were permanent.

To be honest I love most of the mechanics in this game Such as being able to Climb anything due to the Vertical combat system. I’ve been Getting W’s left and right. I also Like to use Vantage points in case my squad gets into a Fight and I provide sniper support. Definitely in my top 3 VR games I Like.

whenever the game gets down to the last three teams, i’ll wait for two of them to start fighting it out. as soon as i here it, i’ll move to high ground and start building a massive fort with my teammates and it usually ends in a dub. the idea here is that you let the last two kill eachother so that you don’t have enemies trying to take down the fort you’re building as you’re building it. next thing is that everybody needs to participate, everybody needs builds and should contribute. as for the layout of the fort, there never is one, just build a large plane with walls for defense and openings to shoot out. add multiple levels to this plane both upwards or downwards so that when it is just the last team, they can’t just wipe out your whole fort

I've found building a platform in a tree to be very advantageous. Ambushed a squad once as they took cover under said treehouse.

One tip: When having a pistol, use the left hand to spam the trigger. You can shoot much faster when pressing with the other hand. One magazine will be emptied in one second!

Yeah. I climbed up the tower once hoping there would be like a similar thing to the combat trial with ammo and each gun just laid out or at least something good that you'd be able to grab and maybe sit up there and snipe. Nope. Probably the worst possible thing to do in the early game is climb the tower. Maybe if you have some serious sniper ammo climb like halfway up build a little platform to stand on and snipe people until the zone closes in.

Loving the videos man! Love this game and nice to have someone who can really break it down like this so early in it's release! My one tiny critique(which is more like an OCD kind of thing) is maybe you could place yourself talking either in a corner or off to the side a bit when showing gameplay in the background. I definitely want to see you talking, but when there is gameplay in the background and you can see everything but right in the center where the action is, it kind of gives me a headache lol. Hopefully that makes sense. Just wanted to point that out in case anyone else had the same thought. Other than that I love it all, I'm subscribed, keep it up, you rock!

I actually prefer the windmill technique while climbing, you basically do what he said but instead of going up and down with your arms, you do a full rotation with your arms and grab when your hands reach the front. :D

If you are about to land while flying you can actually build I tried it but I dont know if its good because most of the time you will be high while flying but you can build cover before landing I guess.

That's true and I actually saw someone build to their side while flying over a hill around an enemy and it worked quite effectively as cover

Great video mate, as per usual, superb video editing. Are you mostly playing on Index? I've been doing some "Try Hard" research and I think Index players have an advantage over Quest 2 players due to the 144hz mode. What do you think?

Yeah almost exclusively on the Index. I have a poor Quest 1 that's just sitting there in the corner collecting dust 😢 Yeah I'm not too sure whether the extra hz actually give an advantage. I used to think so but now I'm not so sure. It feels like it does but measurably I don't really notice much difference in my performance.

I’d imagine hand relative movement is better for small play areas, head relative for larger area and more immersive gameplay

I mainly use head relative for the reason it usually frees up both my hands for everything. It's much more pronounced for me in other games where dual wielding is more of a thing. But it's definitely preferential :)

Yes you absolutely can and do. But there is no proning character animation. Also bear in mind it's only head and hands, as you said. So e.g. peeking round wall corners will still expose your body 😁

Yeah the only reason I have it set to snap is because there wasn't a way to turn it off complete 😂 Yes I only turn irl, I find snap turning messes with my aim a bit, though there are plenty of people who use it very well. I currently use the right thumbstick for a bunch of custom bindings, like pinging and reloading :)
