It was honestly so funny watching you struggle through finding the capital of the Bahamas while thinking Nassau was a separate country! We all make mistakes, don't feel too bad about it 🏉

2:53 Yes! A lot of the colonial development in these places occurred after the Hanoverian succession, and the first four British monarchs of house Hanover were all named George. The US state of Georgia gets its name from the same place. Many of the old towns along the east coast of the US are named after the Stuart monarchs who were in charge during their settlement, Charles I and Charles II. That’s how we have Charleston in South Carolina, the Charles Town neighborhood of Boston, etc

Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten are separate countries inside the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba are municipalities of the Netherlands which formally also is a country inside the kingdom. Of course the Netherlands is the biggest country and the state that houses parliament and the crown.

Can't believe a steak and kidney pie is $3.00 in the Bahamas, $4.00 in The Dominican and $5.00 in Aruba. A Chicken pie is $3.50 in the Bahamas, $4.50 in The Dominican and $5.50 in Aruba. And a Lamb pie is $3.75 in the Bahamas, $4.75 in The Dominican and $5.75 in Aruba. But that's just the Pierates of the Carribean.

Wish Puerto Rico wouldn’t get lumped in with the US 😩 we have our own national and cultural identity as a Latin American country despite being a U.S. colony

yeah but you sure do enjoy the SSi and EBt and medical benefits that come with US citizenship without US P.R. would be another Haiti
@armandoa.rodriguez-valenti9055 Жыл бұрын
@PizzaHunter420 allow me to shed some light on your blatant ignorance. SSI & welfare plans such as EBT don’t even apply to the people of Puerto Rico in the island at all since it’s an unincorporated U.S. territory. Only U.S. states receive those. Same thing with medical benefits. Puerto Ricans in PR would have to travel to the U.S. & apply for medical assistance if they want it. MOST Puerto Ricans in the U.S. don’t even use EBT, those are the very poor or ghetto ones from the northeast area of the U.S. that act culturally like African Americans. We true Boricuas don’t claim them. They make us look bad. Most Puerto Ricans in the midwestern & west coast of the U.S. are actually more productive. At least 2/5th of the population in PR lives in the countryside more or less as farmers. As of last year, 2023, 41.7% of the island was reported as living in poverty. Do you know why? Ask Uncle Sam: tourism, gentrification, privatization & bitcoin are all that’s been currently happening in the island & greatly affects the natives. Taxes are soaring, my people can’t afford to keep their properties that were passed down to them from generations, so they sell them, then move typically to the northeast of the U.S. & now live in ghettos surrounded by Afro-Americans & crime. Do you even know HOW did Puerto Rico become a U.S. territory?….. I highly suggest during a thorough research into our history before wrongfully judging.
@armandoa.rodriguez-valenti9055 Жыл бұрын
@PizzaHunter420 & if PR weren’t a U.S. territory, it would NOT end up like another Haiti! That’s bullcrap. Do you know why Haiti is even the way it is?….. Because of their own government & people. Look at Haiti currently needing help from Kenya, another 3rd-world country, because they’re too incompetent to stop gang violence (Zoe Pound)….. they’re begging for Kenya to send POLICE OFFICERS….. Without the U.S., infrastructure in PR wouldn’t be frozen in the late-19th century. The economy would’ve increased since Spain was doing a good job managing the island. In 1897, literally a year before the U.S. Navy invaded my country, Spain had issued a Carta Autonómica (“Autonomy Charter”) to PR. Puerto Ricans had FULL representation in the Cortes of Spain, FULL citizenship rights as a Spaniard born & raised in Spain, & all other benefits of Spaniards. PR would’ve been another Isla Canárias today, which is a part of Spain & is thriving. Under the U.S., PR is a devolved constitutional dependency….. “limited autonomy”….. the only reason why the govt in the island is corrupt, is because the U.S. govt divides the people so we can’t advance. Then they “come to the rescue”. Our current governor, Pedro Pierluisi, is a puppet of the U.S. govt. Now, had PR been INDEPENDENT, it wouldn’t end up like Haiti. The U.S. govt pulled MORE than $4B USD from PR in federal taxes in the fiscal year 2021. This amount goes up every year. The U.S. govt pulls more $$ from PR than it gives the territory. To the U.S., PR is a cash cow, that’s why they don’t want PR to be free. Now imagine how much more the U.S. govt pulls out from tourism….. none of the tourist resorts in PR aren’t owned by Puerto Ricans….. A free PR could very well have been another Singapur🇸🇬-it’s even SMALLER than PR yet independent & thriving. Check online. Singapur’s 1ST-WORLD COUNTRY with a powerful passport in the TOP 5 MOST POWERFUL IN THE WORLD. Singapur’s passport is MORE POWERFUL than the U.S. passport. Same with Spain. The Spanish passport in listed in the Top 5 as well. Next time, please do a little research before posting falsities online about another country & its people. It’s ignorant & offensive.
