ASMR Vintage Maps (soft spoken)

This has been a lucky find in my local community book box! Someone left this stash of maps from the 60s, 70s and 80s - presumably from their own holiday travels. Let's give two of them a closer look: one of Air India and one of Carinthia (with a little history detour, of course).

These maps were a good find. Always very interesting to see how maps change over time. These look to be about 50 odd years old. Very interesting how Slovenia seems to have existed prior to Austria coming into being. To then be incorporated within it and then the southern part of it being separated from it after the Austro-Hungarian Empire was broken up. Thanks. Another interesting, relaxing journey.

They were such a lucky find! And yes, they smell like they were in a cupboard for about 50 years 😅 Basically yes, there was a Slavic population in the early Middle Ages and later Carinthia and Carniola were closely connected for centuries. n I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you :)

It was super lucky - I think with some of the book shelves, these odder entries get removed, because people probably don't see why they would be useful haha, but for us it's great!

Ahh that's a good guess! Looks like Romania was a popular summer destination since it's by the sea. I'm still not sure how easy or common it was from the West, though.
