Funny how the rival has a completly different team due to the starter difference. I always thought that even in rando it would be somewhat similar.

based off of what i remember from a brief stint of getting into modding crystal, it's because the rival teams per starter are listed separately, so if the randomization takes each individual pokemon from all the lists and randomizes it independently, they would end up being different
