HOW EASILY CAN YOU BEAT POKEMON CRYSTAL WITH ONLY IN-GAME TRADE POKEMON?

With the introduction of Pokemon challenges in the KZbin scene, many interesting new game play styles have been made to test your skill or patience with the series. Considering I've really never done one of these, I decided to check out the trading side of these challenges. Today we're going to find out how easily you can beat Pokemon Crystal with only in-game trade Pokemon! Second comment, I know, but, I had to point out. at 10:39, the odd egg had ~14% chance to be Elekid, and 14% chance to be shiny in int. versions. So there was a 2% chance for that to happen unless I misunderstood. That's insane.

I really like this kind of format on your channel. Usually it's hard for me to keep listening to these challenges, mostly because the Poketuber somehow sound either like they are about to sleep or the challenge sounds too easy to begin with. So those clips you took into this video really helped with that one (even though that was insanely lucky to say the least lmao). Just hope, you don't upload them frequently which makes it boring really quickly and also doesn't suit your usual style of uploading.

This was a very motivating watch while working on my own challenge video! To put it one of the two categories you mentioned (hard or tedious) it's definitely more on the tedious side, but I can't wait to have it completed since I don't know if anyone's ever done it before (at least I couldn't find any on KZbin) Thank you for continually inspiring others to do their own fun challenges in Pokemon through your videos, it's always an event when a new Johnstone video comes out, and I'm already excited for the next one!

Not just the terrible half, but the actual terrible quarter. Elekid's gender ratio is 25% Female 75% male, so the highest Atk IV it could get would be 2 or 3 (0 and 1 don't yield shiny).

If you're looking for video ideas, I would really love a Professor Oak or "How easily can you speedrun" / "How easily can you complete a living dex" challenge in Pokemon Fire Red / Leaf Green and Heart Gold / Soul Silver. I see those 2 sets of 2 games way too little on KZbin honestly.

I did this on my own a while ago and was surprised that it was super enjoyable to play! With the added benefit of boosted exp growth it made the game super fun since I wouldn't have to grind as much as a normal playthrough.

@@bridgeseller7004 Yup, I failed my one and only shiny encounter in Silver after 19 years and well over 2000 hours put into gen 2 as a whole because of this. It was also a Tangela, but not from the same route.

@@bridgeseller7004 Tangela, Magnemite, Cubone, Grimer, Dratini, Dragonair, Quagsire, Unown, Snubbul, Heracross, Delibird, Phanphy, and Teddiursa can all run from you in gen 2. There are more that are supposed to run, however they don't appear in the wild. The Fast Ball is also supposed to give an increased catch rate on all these guys plus the roamers, but it is glitched and only gives an increased rate on Magnemite, Cubone, and Grimer.
