Hi Mapalo, thank you for such an informative video. One of the biggest mistakes I made was to believe that "umuntu uphilela is'koloto" as a result I opened a store account. I then tried to save, invest and pay off the debt at the same time. Last year I read your book and decreased my saving contribution in order to pay off the store card and now have a Tax Free Saving Account. The goal is to pay off the debt by end of July this year and I am glad that I am still on track. Once the card is paid off I will close it and use the same money to save it in a savings account for traveling.

Great conversation ❤️ ❤️ My biggest money mistake was not being comfortable with money Money was this monster that I was so scared of talking and thinking about as a result landed me in debts How I overcome that was first a change of mindset and knowing that a paycheck to paycheck life is not for me Reading personal finance books and listening to such conversations has been a great help in changing my mindset and normalizing money in my life and ever since I healed my relationship with money Money loves me Money stay with me Money is comfortable with me And I love it

I found myself feeling so angry and uncomfortable listening to your videos. My ego was saying "these people are not talking to me. They are talking to people who have money to save and room to manoeuvre in their budgets. What about the rest of us." But I realise I feel angry with myself. There's probably other feelings too. I won't get into my story but issa mess. It's very challenging to take responsibility. My choices have led to where I am... Thank you for being out here providing information. It's a start...

My money mistake wa taking mycar on a ballon and on a fixed interest rate. I realized it when you did a video about the ballon payment. That time was too late to rectify anything because i was going through a divorce and didnt even have savings. 6 montha now since the divorce has been finalized and i would have finished paying my car but no i had to refinance the ballon payment. My second mistake was not to save for rainy days. Rainy days are coming to me now in numbers and i dont have a cent to deal with them. But now i am in the process of fixing that, i empowered myself by reading and listenin to personal finane advices. Now i make a wise decision and i a able to say this is not emergency and i dont have to worry about. I am trying to live below my means so that i dont take debts.

Wow Mapalo. This is so insightful. I am in my 30's and I can just relate with all you have said. One goal I have set for this year is to learn more about money, and you have been feeding my soul. Currently I don't have anything in my account, but I have a mindset to change. I have work to implement, even if its one change per day. Being patient with me. Watching your videos, and I am catching up on your past videos, and man a shift is happening in my mind. I thank the Lord for this ministry, I praise him for the calling he has placed on you to assist people like me. This is just a thank you comment.

I am falling in love with conversation where money is the topic which in the past few months I could not because of the shame I had because of my not so good financial situation. The biggest mistake I made was taking a loan for my boyfriend years back which is my current husband before knowing his relationship with money which caused me a huge financial down fall, since most us don't discuss finances when we fall in love 🤦 I've learned a huge lesson not to take debts for anyone like NONE 🤚 And on improving /solution for our finances I've introduce him to your channel 😅we watch your videos together & that made us to take baby step to start having an open & honest conversation about money which we never had.

Just recently discovered this channel new subbie. I just started working last year and my biggest money mistakes so far have been: 1. Using my overdraft to fund basic needs because I over spent on luxuries and month in month out after that has been me trying to pay the overdraft then using it 2. My second biggest mistake has been not having an honest conversation with money and just avoiding to even look at my banking apps because I was afraid to face how bad I have been with money 3. My third is being from a non privileged background I constantly look at money in scarcity as well I am solving this problem by writing down my budget monthly and tracking my expenses. Started saving for emergency so I avoid using my overdraft for emergencies Having honest conversations with myself about whether or not what I am buying or spending money on is a necessity. I have also started a journey of financial education for myself by reading and watching this channel.

Thank you for the informative financial education, i am learnt so much. I have been stressing a lot looking at my bank balance and my bank statements i realise i need some changes around how i spend my money. I am often broke even though i am working. My lesson is to start small in changing my spending habits and learn to invest some of the money. Thank you!

Great conversation The biggest money mistake I made was having clothing accounts, which meant I was able to buy clothes even when I cannot afford and don't really need them. As women, we would call it retail therapy :) I then realised that I'm in debt for things that I don't really need. I decided to close off all the clothing accounts and start saving that money for things that I really need. I was not comfortable talking about money. I then learned to talk about my money challenges/ mistakes and would listen to people's money mistakes. I started feeling comfortable talking about my money mistakes and that helped because I was able to accept and from accepting I was able to rectify them.

Hi Mapelo, firstly I would like to thank you for the effort you put in this video to make it informative for us. I'm a first year university student and I decide to start saving this year but my biggest money mistake was that I used to believe that I should start with everything else then save but unfortunately that strategy didn't work for me because I would finish my money and be left with nothing. Another mistake was that I spent ALOT of time doing research about saving money instead of just going for it. To fix my mistakes I watched one of your videos and learnt about the 50%/30%/20% saving strategy and now I am currently implementing it, I decided to just start saving then continue doing my research whilst saving.

Great conversation, thank you Mapalo. My Money mistake is that I am a perfectionist. I waited too long to invest because I couldn't invest the amount of money I wanted to. Also when I started to invest, I invested with companies that were mostly selling a certain product than looking for my needs. Thanks to these kind of videos I eventually started to invest and I changed the company I was investing my money in.

For me definitely my biggest mistake was blowing my savings 😭 it wasn’t a lot BUT it’s the principle that matters. I’m definitely building a better relationship with money AND on savings mode 101. I’m also fixing it by budgeting well in advance and STICKING to it.
