Movin’ on up! Yesterday, rescued mountain lion cubs Maple and Willow graduated from our vet hospital and journeyed to our cub rescue “head start” habitat in our California Trail area.
Thanks to the successful bonding and training efforts of their care team, these rescued sisters hopped into travel crates and made the short drive up the hill safe and sound! Although they aren’t viewable to the public in their new space, Maple and Willow will be able to interact through a fence line with fellow mountain lions, our residents Coloma and Silverado.
We’ll keep helping these young cubs develop and grow mentally and physically as long as they are in our care, until California Department of Fish and Wildlife finds a “furrever home” for them. And, as soon as the pair is settled in and comfortable in their new space, we’ll turn on the CubCam and you can watch Maple and Willow in real time!
We’ll keep the CUBdates coming 😻😻
