In the past week i have seen almost all your videos. I am totally addicted to watching you make anything and everything. I am 35 and for some reason i have never come across woodworking and i find it soo damn interesting. I have gathered some tools already and am in the process of sourcing a lathe and a jointer and planer to start off with in my small room in my garden i am setting up a small workshop to spend my spare time in this new hobby/venture. Anything to do with wood i find very warm and satisfying for some reason and i am glad i have come across this stuff although a little late in life...

@WoodByWright8 жыл бұрын
so cool! I wonder if you could rig up a camera to take one frame of footage for every revolution of the lathe so the video would make it look like it is not spinning at all.
@red_freckle8 жыл бұрын
Since applying the tool to the workpiece actually slows down the lathe a bit I think it would be virtually impossible to keep the frame rate in sync with the lathe's rpms. At least without some piece of dedicated software. Look up "Peter Brown strobe light" on KZbin, it's pretty awesome.
@WoodByWright8 жыл бұрын
I have seen that. it is cool. to time it you would have to rig something up to the shaft to signal the image.
@red_freckle8 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's what I was picturing.
@Samuel-uh5uc8 жыл бұрын
Or even mount a camera on it!
@lufferov8 жыл бұрын
To add to that, the lathe rotates at such a high rpm that the shutter speed would need to be REALLY fast to remove and blurring. So you'd need a LOT of light too!
