Getting Dumba would be much better. Younger than Tanev by 4 or 5 years, same type of player and he'd cost a 3rd pick plus maybe a prospect for some salary retention. Also, I like that Kunin guy. Aggressive and can play all forward positions. I'd trade Robertson for him. Get them to retain some salary too for a Marlie prospect like Abruzzese.

Yeah I think that slap shot to the empty cage.... and Reilly's immediate response, was the BEST thing to happen to the Leafs. His RIDICULOUS 5 game ban... just pissed the boys off even more, so let's take it and run boys. 🤞 I HOPE we get a Solid D man to pair with Reilly.... if so, I like their chances at making a little run. I still think they should get a work horse type D man a guy that can block shots makes very little mistakes and can help on penalty kill to right or left shot I dont think I would worry about that to much

Alot of people aren't realizing this however next season is when Toronto is going to NEED Cowan and Minten possibly Niemela to make that jump to the NHL. Having Matthew's at 13.25 (I think this was a bad deal for the Leafs IMO I get it his cap hit would have been closer to 14.5 at 8 years. I just think not signing Matthew's. marner and Nylander to 8 year contracts like all the other superstars on every other team is why this team won't win. If you look at Boston .. they won because they had Bergeron Pasta and Marchand all on team friendly deals because of the cap going up and being Lower cap hits.

I believe all of the Leafs problems right now can be fixed from 1 trade on 1 team. The Philadelphia Flyers. As much as the Leaf fans were all about Trade Justin Holl and his 2 mil last season I was against it because there would be no better defenceman to do what he does for less then 2 mil. The leafs need those tough stay at home blocking shots with their fave type PK defenceman. With Tanev off the board. I believe their next target should be Walker. I don't think the leafs should stop there with trades with Philly. They also have Laughton and Seeler. Both would fit amazing within the leafs needs. The leafs need that shut down line well no better then Laughton at 50% retained to centre that 3rd line. Bump Kampf down to 4C. DOMI back to wing. Or put Laughton on the wing.

Their success the last 2 weeks is for 3 reasons.Riley stepping up when some one rubbed it in .Then Tavares on the 3rd line mentoring them.Then why is no one talking about the Mathews BBQ...All 3 things at the same time has lite the fire.I would only use my #1 pic to try and get Flurry.Samsonov would then have to go partly because of his cap hit.Then use that going after a D man.Forget about #1 pic the future is now.Time to win a cup now not hope for the future.

Adam Larrson is to me the perfect fit. Size, toughness, defensive skill and leadership. He also has 1 extra year on his contract at 4mil. I'd be willing to part with the 1st for that. No clue what Seattle's appetite on trading him is though.

Brodie is not bad on left side but extremely bad on the right side, 38 turnovers for what is supposed to be a shut down defence really? Broide has to be traded and get at least 1 physical defender to pair with Rielly then another right hand D to pair with McCabe ,3rd pair is Benoit with Lijegren or get another shutdown 3rd pair type.

Robertson and a 3rd for Tanev. Conroy will wait till the last minute to maximize return but I don’t think Tanev is worth more. No way they get a first round pick

You have to trade to get but if your plan is to go defense for the playoffs, it's not going to work with this team. This team requires team defense, all 3 forwards coming back to help out. You need all 4 lines producing, maybe not at the same pace but at least something when it comes to playoffs. I say they stand with what they have. Don't mess with the chemistry and show trust in your group. Until Tavares is gone, is there really any point in selling draft picks? Trust this group, if it doesn't pull through then wait until Tavares is gone and then make your final push.
