I'm still pissed they brought Auston back against TB. If they say him one more game they would have opened up a nice chunk of cap for the deadline.

I think this season the leafs were absolutely dominant without Auston. I really like him but damn

Yeah this is kind of weird. They've definitely looked better without him. I've always wondered why that is. They're powerplay looks better without him too.

@Pixelplushockey I think Auston has always been a little bit about personal stats. He's considered to be a star on this team and now he wears the 'C'. I feel the team has always tried to feed him shots for goals. Especially last season when he was chasing 70 goals. This team has proven that they are strong enough without him but we also have to consider how they play during the playoffs. Also Tavares has been insane this season without the pressure of having the 'C' on his jersey. I want Matthew's on this team as long as we can have him but he just seems off this season. These are only my thoughts and opinions

@@Pixelplushockey Yeah, he missed 9 games and more than 24 days. The minimum to put a player on LTIR is 10 games and more than 24 days. He would have missed 10 if the schedule hadn't been so slow at the time, or if they had just sat him out against TB like they were supposed to. Then put him on LTIR retroactively and brought him back the next game. Would have opened up well over a $1.5M in cap space.
