That guitar shows you how much we are overcharged for just about *every* other guitar. Nice solid Maple neck, great fretwork, solid mahogany body, nice hot pickup. What more do you need?

Kramer can do slightly better with improved hardware I believe. Duncan Designed pups, a Wilkinson style trem and a better nut, we're talking a modest $250 here. Instant competition killer.

@joecoach72682 жыл бұрын
I just ordered a ruby red one (March 2022) - should be here today and I am really excited. I bought it as a mod platform to learn with so I appreciate your video. I am hopeful for the same fret experience. I looked at a few $1000 guitars last weekend at multiple music stores and they all had savage fret sprout - makes me wonder if manufacturers have thrown away some QC to pump out guitars to meet demand. Hoping thats not the case with my Kramer, but if so, I will deal with it. As with your experience, it took some work to find one. I even had one in my cart over night to think it through and the next day it was sold out. CRAZY!

I was thinking about putting a sh5 humbucker in the bridge since I'm going for the van Halen sound but don't wanna go for sh11 or custom 78 as they have a very high output which won't work well with my rig. Do you recommend changing this pickup because in all honesty it sounds incredible but I was wondering if the sh5 would be an improvement in that context. Great vid btw.
@EJBGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, the stock humbucker is surprising good…but you gotta think the Duncan Custom would sound great in there. It’s a relatively inexpensive experiment - you could always swap back if it wasn’t much of a difference and use the Duncan somewhere else or sell it.

The original had a treble bleed on the pot. You could also have just removed the cap, but I’m sure the mojotone is a superior potentiometer. Great looking guitar for the money. Is there a scarf joint on the headstock?
@EJBGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I realized that about the TB cap on the pot...I mentioned that in my follow up video on the purple Baretta Special, but hadn't realized it at the time I made this video...you are correct, snipping the TB cap off of the pot helped a lot, but yes at 6 or 7 bucks, the MojoTone pot is a great cheap upgrade.
@stalkedillegally18963 жыл бұрын
I bought this guitar. Took out the pickup, routed a cavity for a neck pickup, put some 13 guage flatwounds on it, .... No I didn't. But I probably would,lol. Guitars like that just force me to try and modify them. Which I guess defeats the purpose.

Hi there, i just bought this Guitar last week and i'm asking myself how can i take care of this maple Fretboard. Do i need a Lemon Oil or a Wax??? Thanks and best Regards from Germany
@EJBGuitar3 жыл бұрын
Nah…just wipe the strings down a little bit after playing if you want…maple fretboards are strong and durable and usually don’t require any sort of treatment. You definitely don’t want lemon oil - that’s a rosewood board treatment. If you don’t want the board getting dirty, just use a normal guitar cleaner and either a soft cloth or soft toothbrush to clean it and then wipe it dry. I tend to let maple boards dirty up a little bit and not worry about it much.

@@EJBGuitar thanks Eric, hey also heard that i can cut the cap on the pot and that is to provide better volume control. What do you think? I will try, it can’t hurt , as there is absolutely no volume control now, meaning it is about 80% off till about 7.5-8 range where it is then full volume. Also agree that tuners would be a sound investment as any multiple dives seem to affect the tuning.
