Best way to look at this game, it's a marathon not a race. Once you have that mindset the game is actually enjoyable. Stressing about day to day stuff trying to rush the endgame has not helped anyone. Good video

its a marathon. I was busy one day and couldnt put the hour into dailies. So i just didnt do it. And did the dailies the next day I could. Also i like how doing dailies takes me around 1 hour I usually always have a spare hour per day

I'm already overwhelmed by how long dailies take. Gotta do monster park runs to get that seven day medal, killing mobs for daily and weekly events and orbs and ursus, maple tour, legion coins, i skip bosses sometimes except hard gollux because im so tired after work and even gave up on commerci too lol. Need some sleep before going back to work again lol. Can only play a good 2-3 days a week and maybe less than 3 hours daily. Could always skip gym to play/sleep more lol. So easy to burn out fo sho

I'm a old school player, who plays on and off, just casual. The biggest thing to remember is to enjoy the game, have fun, and go at your own pace

I recommend joining a class discord for all those questions (btw your IA as Nightwalker should be either Boss Damage or Meso Rate)

I find myself getting bottlenecked when trying to do basic mobbing and questing at lvl 150+ because of being undergeared . Not even getting to Pensilar gear and I have no idea where to start with bossing.

if your character is hyper burning then you should be getting some pretty strong free gear

Pensalir should just drop as you kill stuff, if you die it does lower your drop rate and exp for a little while that could be why. if your around 150 the only bosses I did at the time where normal zakum and horntain daily. If you can do chaos horntail do that, if not just do normal. Where are you trying to mob? is it a place that requires a lot of starforce and you just cant afford it? If thats the case I would just train at non starforce or lower starforce till u can afford it

@@ibbhimself I have very little Star Force, so I can't do much in those maps until I get Mesos and Spell Traces. Easy Cygnus was the boss that stomped me because of woefully low DPS. Tried normal Zakum before and was also stomped because of low DPS and not knowing the fight. I read that progression in Maplestory is more of a "marathon" than a "sprint" so I figure I need to gear up to properly start bossing.

@@chokezillla You should really do hyper burning to get a character up with free gears, and i recommend playing on reboot which is easier than normal imo

You have to view the game not as "character progression" but more "account progression". The first few character are gonna struggle but when you get some level 120 link skills and some legion levels every other character you create will have a massive advantage over what you were used to before. If you dont want to get frustrated not oneshotting mobs and grinding very inefficiently you should probably create a few characters and bring them to level ~120. This will also make you experience a few different calsses and it will be easier to decide what you like and what you don't like to choose a main in the future. At your point in progression focus on gathering information about link skills and legion and try to improve your damage without investing into gear you will replace very soon. Hope that helped

btw the damage noblesse guild skill gives as much damage to bosses as the boss damage noblesse skill, those two are additive while crit damage is not

Also a returning player heres some additional things i noticed upon my comeback. (I previously played in old school maple took a break, and played again around demonslayer release) They are GIVING away significant items nowadays. For example the most recent event i have gotten a 15 star dominator pendant with unique potential and 9% of my classes stats FOR FREE. Back in the day the event gave you a 2 all stat 2 attack ring at BEST. So my tip is that you dont focus on gear almost at all until maybe 220-230 because you will get items (via events, burning,etc.) for free that might just immediately eclipse your items you spent your life savings on a week prior. Evidence they just gave out a 15 star abso lab weapon for hyper burning that made my current one i spent 500m on a month before pointless. Sure you cant wait for ever for the items to fall in your lap, but legion, and links will be cheaper, stronger and last longer for your progression then chasing the newest boss drop items

I think the top 1 mistake new and returning players make is to play in reg server 😂. You who is thinking on coming back to maple or play for the first time....Go to reboot

You can free to play in reg server just fine... Some people enjoy buying NX from auction house and buying vac pets from there as well.

​@@voxii_13how about inventory slots though? Is there a way to buy them using ingame currency in reg? Cause im a hoarder and theres no way im buying nx just to max out inventory on every char in reg like i can on reboot

@@voxii_13 this is the thing....I know this because I left the reg server with 4k legion, lvl 243 shadower. If you want to pass the mid game point in reg server, you need you either spend a ridiculously amount of time (and I mean, way way more than in reboot, an amount of time that no normal adult has to play video game, 8hrs plus daily) or to spend a ridicously amount of money (we are talking like thousands of dollars sometimes for 1 item). There is no way to win in reg server as a free to play, it sucks. No debate on that. People compare the time in reboot spend vs the money in reg server, but is not comparable....in reboot you can farm 1 hr a day, and eventually get to end game, maybe 3 months, maybe 6, maybe 1 year from now, but you will get there because funds are accessible IN THE GAME. Reg server not only make it wayyy longer, have bunch of elementos behind a pay Wallington, like the best scrolls and bonus cubes. It's bs, go to reboot

@@voxii_13 idk why my comment gets deletr, I'll say this. No you can't advance in reg server as a F2P, at least not pass early/mid game (260+). I was a shadower 243 in reg with 4k legion. In order to get pass mid game, you need to either spend a ridiculously amount of time ( way way way more than in reboot) or spend a ridicously amount of money. Reboot is Def better
