A few pointers: -You really want to be using the lock on -Be sure to talk to npcs multiple times before leaving, they will often have different dialogue -Keep in mind player messages can and will often be just trolls, such as the one trying to get you to jump in the well. -There is never a straight path to where you want to go, never forget this.

The fact you know nothing of it, didn’t start with Dark Souls 3 or Bloodborne, and haven’t been spoiled by memes and stuff, makes this really fantastic and magical. To think it has been 10 years already since this originally was released. To answer your question, the dying knight was indeed the one who dropped the corpse with the key into your cell, as you probably noticed the Asylum Demon was also on the roof of the asylum, combine that with the fact that there's a hole in the roof above the knight and you have some fairly good environmental story telling. After freeing you the knight was found by the demon which proceeded to slam him through the roof and into the cell below where you find him with only moments left to live. He passes on his estus flasks and will to gain the knowledge of the fate of the undead to you. In a sense, that knight is responsible for your journey and all you accomplish.

The seemingly universal experience of heading to the graveyard and being confronted with extreme difficulty, and either thinking it’s where you’re meant to go, but you are bad, or making you give up altogether. It is all because of ineffective marketing. This game was marketed and touted as incredibly difficult, so when difficulty arises, people new to the game think it’s supposed to be that way. In reality, you don’t need to step near the catacombs for a rather significant portion of your playthrough

@braedenhunter65013 жыл бұрын
@@targard.quantumfrack6854 Well, it would depend on level of skill, and experience with souls likes. If someone was seeing this game being constantly touted as incredibly difficult, they may immediately think that they are meant to be met with difficulty everywhere, and that the game may not be for them. It’s ultimately their fault, but I can see it happening to some for sure. I personally explored Firelink Shrine, found myself in the graveyard wondering why these enemies were constantly being revived, and I was frustrated. My knee-jerk reaction was to watch the first episode of a walkthrough, and from that point on, I never was confused as to where I should be going. I figured something was up, even if I did hear the game was meant to be difficult, because to me, difficult didn’t mean unbalanced.

Also,when it comes to weapons,every weapon has a scaling.When you press X in the menu and go to stats of the weapon,the scaling is ( from best to worst ) - S,A,B,C,D,E Basically,scaling gives you a bonus in damage.So if you have a weapon that scales an S for dexterity,it means you will get a massive bonus damage if you have a higher dexterity ( and the same goes for every other stat ). When it comes to shields,press X in your menu to bing up the weapon stats and look to the right side of the menu where it says Damage reduction.There you will find out how good that shield is in physical damage etc. Sorry for the wall of text by the way :D Keep up the good work man :)

You finding the way to Undead Burg was such a delight. The absolute joy in your voice when you found enemies that you could actually kill was phenomenal haha. This is a great first episode for the playthrough it was so interesting seeing what the thought process of someone who went the wrong way at first. I had someone directly tell me which path to take completely unprompted my first play through and didn’t get the chance to have that experience. I have wondered what it would be like to do that first play through ever since one of my friends bashed their head against the graveyard/catacombs repeatedly thinking it was the correct way because the only thing he knew was that dark souls is hard, and by god the graveyard checks that box haha.

Now think about me who played dark souls for the first time without even knowing english, i know the game doesn't give you much but the little it gives is very important, and not being able to understand that made it even harder. I didn't even know what level up meant much less what the stats did lol.

But i was talking more about the dialogue and item explanations, whenever a door was locked i didn't know if it was because i didn't have the key or if it was because you could only open it from the other side.

I must say, it's refreshing to see someone play this for the first time who is actually pretty well-equipped to pick up the game quickly in terms of alertness, situational awareness and just being naturally observant. Everybody else I see try this for the first time does the same typical stuff; ignoring the torch-lit door, genuinely trying to kill the Asylum Demon on the first go, ignoring hints the game gives them, etc. While that can be funny, it's good to see someone take things more seriously and using their wits so effectively right off the bat. 👍

Mapo: I want to read the message. The message: Get away! 😂😂😂 I can't laugh too much, though. I'm playing this game for the first time and I'm getting slapped about something silly. Just finished Blighttown. I'm trying to avoid spoilers, but I do know a lot of people feel negatively about that part. I loved it, and it finally hit me just how much I'm enjoying the game.

Don't worry about spoilers in the messages. People can't just put whatever anything they want. They're restricted to a few different combinations of words that the game gives you to work with. A good portion of the messages are trolls, or straight up lies though.

Ironically those initial suggestions really hamstringed you. While the master key does allow you early access to some places there isn't really anywhere you can't get into eventually anyway without it, and you can learn pyromancies regardless of class later on.
@lukes1010103 жыл бұрын
The recommendation for pyromancer as a starting class probably had less to do with the actual access to pyromancies but more so to the fact that it’s the lowest level class, at level 1, giving him the best access to creating a character that suits his plays style.
@RaphaelRavenwing3 жыл бұрын
@@lukes101010 Honestly? Idk about that, the difference is generally pretty negligible. I've found it perfectly fine to go from a wanderer or thief to an armor wearing ultra greatsword wielder eventually anyway. It might be slightly faster but not by a teeth grinding margin.
